My 6 year old loves these. She moved onto this series after finishing the magic treehouse and then the magic fairies series. These books are probably 3x longer than those. The story is deeper and richer than those others.

We find it difficult to find books at her reading level that are not too mature themed. These are perfect. Nothing too scary, but the plots keep her entertained. She gets super excited to read them. And does over and over again.

Disappointed that the illustrator changed for this book in the series. Also, enjoyed the previous books because they kept most of the 'slang' type writing out of the story. This one was a bit crude and as a result a bit of a disappointment. Still love the concept, though.

This one was our favorite of all the doll people books so far! Initially I was disappointed to see that the illustrator differed from the illustrator of the earlier books. But we adjusted and thoroughly enjoyed this book! I especially enjoyed the story and the other characters we met—Sassafras and the merdolls and Tarquinius and Giselle.

I love this book. It had an unique story line and the action was great. By the end i was really baffled...how were they going to get home? I'll let you read it to find out how. My only complain however is that there was way too many characters. The appeal of the two main dolls and their adventures got lost because the authors had the adult dolls present which in turn caused an air of authority and worry to the story in so many directions that i felt you couldn't focus on any character and admire that character because all of them were written face value opposed to being written in depth so we fall in love with them. Other than that great book!
