5.0 out of 5 starsSad that it is over....

Sometimes the hardest things to do are to ask for help and to believe in yourself. Desi has always found it difficult because she thought she was tainted and didn't deserve to be loved but Michael and her friends thought different. What a journey this has been and it is sad to reach the finale as I have grown fond of these characters, watching them learn and grow, fighting to stay together and defending each other when they needed to. This story is about reaching your potential and believing you can achieve anything and if you can envision it, it then becomes a reality. James is given a mission to rescue Desi that leads to some interesting consequences for them all and even Loki has his moment of redemption. That song by Chris De Burgh is going through my head "Don't pay the Ferry Man." Although the story switches from James to Michael to Desi's POV alternatively, it does lend to the depth of the story understanding how intertwined their lives had become especially as Desi was so reluctant to let her guard down in the beginning. A choice is offered to her and her true destiny is revealed. Michael is always there waiting in the wings to cherish and support her regardless of her decisions. A great battle over Midgard is looming and they will lose some friends along the way. I have enjoyed reading about Norse mythology and the beauty of Asgard. A fitting end to this series and I for one will miss Miri, James, the Valkyrie, Odin and the rest of the gang.

The growth, depth, and vision of author and characters throughout the 3 books has been incredible. Gotta say my heart sang at the ending and gives hope to Midgarrd and all 9 world's. So glad I took a chance on the first book. Looking forward to The Diaries. Thanks for an enthralling read!
This was a very action packed book. I can imagine the seemingly endless battle scene full of death, blood, and tired heros. Even with the battle taking a good portion of the book, I still saw the development of the characters. The ending was no surprise but it was a good ending.
Looking forward to reading more books by Ali Cross.

Desi is a great character full of the doubts and uncertainty we all face and have in our minds but shows how we can overcome and be more than we thought we could be.

I was anxious for their safety and well being and found joy in their triumph over harrowing adversity. Love found in unlikely places, and people, made so many moments sweeter. Very well done and I highly recommend the entire series. "Become", not just "Desolation".
Really enjoyed this series, it was refreshing to read a book about teens who are choosing to stay pure for marriage. That really stood out and was a nice surprise. Great ending, but wish there were more books about Desi and Michael in the future.

This book concluded the desolation series with an ending that was perfect. Filling me with hope of what our world is and hopefully will become. I think the series and this book are one of the best for young adults that I have read.

Yes Awesome Read so exciting and full of hope and love . Desi and Michael are amazing as is the story this author also makes you fall in love with all of the characters
At first I thought it was for kids. Reading on further I really began to enjoy it. So nice to read a book that reflects childhood fairy tales but is aimed for the grown up child. No sex but lots of adventure. Just started to read no.2 in the series as I can not wait to find out how Shade learns more about her magical powers inherited from her unknown father.
Have just finished reading this book and well what to say but fab have loved the journey desi has endured and love all the characters equally was sad to see it come to an end but truly awesome some parts had me shedding tears will deffo recommend and be purchasing in paperback highly recommend hope my review helps
