I didn't realize Dr Naismith was such an incredible man. He did so much more than creating the game I love.

The book is a well written, detailed account of a man who created a wonderful game. His life was exemplary as he had values that should be emulated by coaches, athletes, as well as the general public.

Loved the book, biased though, am a Kansan and Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk fan.
Interesting and well written, even non-basketball fans would enjoy it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Must read for any sports fan.
Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2017
I did not purchase the book. I borrowed it from the local public library. The book was very insightful and entertaining. Dr. Naismith viewed sports as a vehicle to develop people's body and character. He dedicated his life to that worthy goal. It is a must read for any coach in gaining a true perspective on the value and benefits of sports. I consider both Dr. Naismith and Coach John Wooden as two of the greatest examples of using sports as a tool for the development of young men and women. I recommend this book as well as the book "They Call Me Coach" which is covers John Wooden life as must reads for any youth sports coach.
