This book was a perfect blend of the time line in this series. It's amazing to see how things are intertwined with each character.. Now I'm truly intrigued with Cassie because she's been the most mysterious. Each book are a part of a series but they can each be a stand alone novel. Now I say that just as an FYI but I do say get them all. It's good reading! In this book you have Quinn and James- Quinn is the bookworm/nerd who almost has two sides to herself.. She doesn't feel comfortable in her own skin in public interactions in social settings, ie parties.. But she knows who she is and owns up to it throughout the book. Then you have James who exudes that he's beyond comfortable in his own skin- he has it all- looks, body, money and the charisma everyone loves but he's EMPTY.. Alone.. As he says it a ghost.. He spots Quinn at one of his famous party's and is immediately drawn... Quinn is drawn but thinks he's "one of those guys" and brushes him off.. What I love about these two is that they were real with each other when it came to issues.. When it came to circumstances when asked. James of course let's his STUPID friends get the best of him at the wrong times and turns a beautiful situation ugly.. But even though it was ugly it forced him to be REAL to himself. With that said what Quinn did for him, the decision she made for them at the end of her Spring Break was pivotal and necessary and I'm glad the author made it this way into some sappy HEA.. You still get the HEA just not when you may want it. It was perfect and great job! The sex is insane! Intense and Sooo swoon worthy! I'm glad Quinn got multiples of her big O! Literally! This is a good one! Well worth the read! Onto the next one! ;-)
*Sigh* I love this novella, and I can't wait to read the companion books. This new adult story has everything I wanted- angst, love, scorching sex, and a heartwarming story. This is a quick, and fun read that had me needing and wanting more. I couldn't wait to read Cassie and Mac's stories because I knew I would love them just as much as I loved Quinn's.
Beyond Me starts out with three best friends Quinn, Cassie and Mackenzie heading off to Key West for Spring Break. They're not there for the usual MO. Mackenzie has made them all promise to get laid this spring break, and let loose. Quinn is dragging her feet until she locks eyes with James across a room. A little corny? Yes, but hell there's no judgment here because the corniness is soon counteracted with the hottest of sex and the sweetest of stories. James and Quinn can't get enough of each other. They find it all too easy to share their thoughts, and fears. Yet, the end of the week is always looming above them. Through a series of very frustrating and misunderstood actions James and Quinn find themselves alone and wondering how it all went to hell so quickly.
James is quite simply, perfect. Or as perfect as a man can be. He has his flaws but, he is so undeniably sweet, yet with a filthy mind, which I happen to LOVE. Quinn, is a responsible, giver type. Always thinking of others. Until she meets James. He makes her let loose and teaches her it's okay to be selfish sometimes. I think these two learned so much from each other. The imprint they left on one another goes much deeper than chemistry and a few piping hot rounds in the bedroom. And the end *cue swooning*, ah the end is what I live and breath for as a romance reader. The quintessential perfect, for now, ending. Beyond Me is a perfect, quick, fun read. And I am desperate for more from Quinn and James in future and I hope Ms. Probst feels the same way. I feel like they have more story to be told! The best part is that you can start with any book in the Sex on the Beach series because the story lines all happen parallel to one another. Since I got glimpses of Cassie and Mac's stories you better believe I already one clicked those bad boys and they're next in my TBR pile!
Happy Reading! *Complimentary copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*
So I was "sick" today and home without kids and husband to interrupt a good reading day... it is March 25 and we have SNOW on the ground... so what's a girl to do... read a book! This was the perfect book for what I was wanting... some place nice and warm. I read the book in one day... it was awesome. Until the end that is... I couldn't give this a 5 star rating because of the ending.
So this book is one story of three different stories by three different authors. I haven't read the other two books but I like this idea. I just wish that the author hadn't ended it so short. If I were into fan fiction I would so add on to this book... there are so many chapters that could still be written. I was so into the story of James and Quinn that I was hoping, as I approached the end of the book, that there was another book to come (and I am so over trilogies).
Mrs. Probst, if you ever read this, I would encourage you to go back and add onto James and Quinn's story. To end it like you did just seems to short change the reader. If you meant to end it like this, then I'll understand but if you just lost your mojo for it or had to meet the deadline... PLEASE GO BACK and add add add! I'm sorry I just fell in love with their story.
Dear potential reader... don't let my rant about the ending discourage you from reading this book... you'll be missing out on a great read if you do.
Love Jennifer's creative writing, this book delivered so much more than a spring break filled with silly teen's getting drunk, this told us of friends that helped each other but James found out he'd been used by his mates, treated him like part of a group but wasn't. James soon found out how his so called friends had screwed things up with Quinn.... Lucky for James and Quinn they'd fallen in love, love conquerors all when you step up n go find your girl... Loved it was brilliant story..
Quinn travelled to Key West with her college friends determined to enjoy the full experience and meet new people the girls split up. Quinn winds up at a house party in a huge private villa where she meets James, an incredibly handsome and rich man. During the Spring Break week Quinn learns to live a little but are things as they seem.
I enjoyed all three of these books that can be read together or alone.
I really enjoyed this novella and the journey Quinn and James went on. Quinn developed into a strong female which I always like to see. James learnt a lot along the way too. I loved the subtle links to the other 2 great books in the series. I hope you 3 authors decide to continue the series. I'd love more!!!
