Once again Mark Allmond has woven a story that kept me on the edge of my seat. His saga continues as he tries to make a better world for himself and his son, Max. It was a faster pace but still had plenty of action and gave us an insight to Victor's psyche as he tries to deal with his rapidly diminishing group although for reasons other than death. As he works to make his home safer over the years it is obvious that he has devoted his entire life to his son but leaves him empty in many ways. His brother and sister, friends and others try to give normalcy to a world that will never be the same again. Allmond has given the reader just a little more information on the main characters and weaves their stories well interlocking all their fates and futures. I am looking forward to the final installment and dreading it because there is so much more adventure to be had individually as well as together. And as Max grows the question of what he truly is, can do or will be is growing. I think he will need more than just one more book to answer it all or maybe I'm hoping Mr Allmond will take pity on us and continue past book 6.
I finished this book about 4 days ago and am only now getting the chance to leave my review.
I can honestly say that I think this is my favorite book in the, What Zombies Fear, universe to date. Book 5 shows just how much Allmond and Bretz have matured as writers. There are far less grammatical errors, more character development and the story itself is just so much better developed. Allmond and Bretz seem to have found what works for them and dove into this book with no holds barred. The only disappointment?? Book 6 isn't out yet!! I absolutely cannot wait for the final installment of the Victor Tookes adventures.
By the end of this book you will witness the dissolution of relationships and get a glimpse into what is in store for all of the characters in the future. Will everyone survive? What kind of relationship will Max and Victor have? Will the zombies be conquered once and for all?
Pick up, Declaration of War, to get the answers. You won't be disappointed!!
I love all of the books in the What Zombie's Fear. I think they show real heart and soul with a compelling story line. Mr/ Allmond's writing is developing quite amazingly and each book gets better. I recommend that you read them all one after another to get the real feel of the post apocolyptic world he has created.
As always, Tookes and co. sucked me right in and wouldn't let go. I was screaming 'NO' at my poor kindle! I absolutely love all of these books, and can't wait for the next and final installment. I was desperately tapping the screen, hoping I could will more to appear, but I guess I'll just have to wait!
This author has done a marvelous job creating a Zombie Universe like no other. The advent of super zombies and humans takes us through some amazing adventures. I highly recommend this book series as you will have allot of fun reading.
Of course....a cliff hanger!!!! I enjoyed every book except this one. Too much mind battle through half the book. So much tranquility until the last few pages. I still will wait patiently for the next book, make it sooner then later.
I love a good Zombie movie and so when I saw these books offered on my tablet, I decided to check them out. I figured it would be mostly blood and gore but was pleasantly surprised to find out that wasn't the case. I couldn't stop reading them and I'm waiting for book #6!!! I love all the characters you're sposed to love and hated the ones you were sposed to hate.
