5.0 out of 5 stars The war rages outside and within: Third book reaches new heights!

How does Deidre Knight do it? The first Parallel book was exceptional and each installment gets better and better! Parallel Seduction has more action as the war deepens and affects the characters, more suspense as the parallel worlds touch each other, and much more romance.

When Hope Harper, an FBI linguist, is called in to translate the Refarian language, her duties bring her into contact with two men, Scott Dillion and Jake Tierny, an unknown factor who sets off alarms for all sides of the raging battle. Nearly blind from diabetes yet feisty and skilled, Hope uses her language skills and dreams to see beyond her the physical immediate reality. As Hope battles for her life and tries to choose between the two men, Deidre Knight delights readers by developing the stories of other characters. The exiled Refarian king Jared Bennett and Kelsey Wells battle Antousians and their infertility. Details of parallel worlds are given to shed more light on the past betrayal by Thea Haven and Marco McKinley. Although their story is not as prominent, the scenes and their context are crucial to understanding the betrayal and the entire parallel world effect. The history of the Refarian and Antousian animosity emerges in this installment, drawing the reader deeper and deeper to her finely created alien world.

While the war rages outside, Knight also shows the war inside of the dual creature. This installment delves deeper into the cruelty of war and the power of love. Knight's imaginative writing allows the reader to understand evil at its heart. The details of the love experienced by Hope in the heat of battle reaches a new height in the Parallel series. Readers will remember the exquisitely written encounter between Hope and the evil Antousian Veckus for many years. Stunning!

Deidre Knight tackles the issue of gene therapy. Knight's context differs from current political debates enough to reach the heart of both sides of several issues and the reader's heart. Her questions are both more philosophical and practical. The author views both sides and allows the reader to contemplate both without a simplistic resolution. Deidre Knight combines all the strengths of the paranormal romance and science fiction genres and creates a masterpiece!

PARALLEL SEDUCTION takes us into the parallel world where Jake Tierny is worried at the damage Marco might do. The war is not going well for the Refarins and this may be their last stand. Jake decides to use the mitres in order to go back and stop Marco from doing any damage. Jake is an Antousian and ally of Jared's. When he gets back in time he finds his nemesis Marco did not do any damage and is mated to Thea. He also finds himself hunted by Scott Dillion. Scott is half-antousian and recognizes Jake as one. Jake has many secrets and one by one they are discovered.

Scott Dillion is the leader of Jared's men. In PARALLEL HEAT his life was saved by Hope Harper, a blind FBI agent. When he is rescued she goes with him. They find themselves very attracted to each other and they begin to have erotic dreams of the two of them togather. Scott finds he goes from no interest except sex with a woman to being in love with Hope.

Hope Harper is an FBI agent, she is a translator, and she is sick with diabetes which is slowly taking her sight. But just the touch of Scott's hand sends her body into overdrive. Noone knows she has gone with the aliens. Now she finds herself attracted to Jake in the same way she is to Scott....it doesn't make sense to her.

The puzzle of Scott, Jake, and Hope plays out to the end of the book. we are also caught up in the mateing of Kelsey and Jared, she wants a child and he needs an heir. The fertility of the King is limited and he must reach his Mateing heat to be able to make her pregnant. The interwoven plots make for a great read and I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

The Antousians are not defeated yet, their leader is still determined to defeat the Refarians and the inhabitants of this world. His agression hopely will push the two fractions togather.

I very much enjoyed this book and recommend all three highly. Do not miss PARALLEL ATTRACTION, or PARALLEL HEAT.

I really love how the author has presented going back in time, and the memories created from the rift. Hope and Scott, have memories of their different future, and now we are truly realizing that the future is not yet written. How Marco's decision has altered the present and what it will mean for the future.

I've never written an online book reveiw before yet I feel utterly compelled to tell all who will read that this novel is by far one of the most passonate novels on the market to date. It was gut-wrenching and absolutely soul shattering! I loved every word that Ms. Knight wrote. It seems that she gets more talented with every new novel and this one tops all three in Midnight Warrior series. I can't wait for Parallel Desire to grace the book shelves! Hurry Ms. Knight, hurry!

1.0 out of 5 stars boring, weak, sleeper

This series of books are probably the most boring, mind numbing, dull books i have ever read. The leading men are so pathetic. I must of read fifty times how the main man blushed, stammered, stuttered and acted like a complete loser. I don't want a leading man blushing, i want him hot and sexy. taking the lead, Not blushing like he was a naive teenager. I also would have liked a lot more back ground info on the alien race. The entire series felt very contrived. I had no clue as to what these aliens were really all about. I know the author was trying to interject romance but she really needed to do more background info on these guys. I would not recommend this book or any others in the series to anyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable but confusing

The 3rd book in the series. Interesting, but confusing as the characters are now living in more than one time line scenerario. Using the mitres they can now travel back in time. Therefore, knowing what happens in the future, a character from that future time can travel back into the past in order to try and alter the actions of the past version of himself/herself and therefore alter what happens in the future. You also have people who are loyal to the king, turning traitor. I'm afraid I found these dual timelines somewhat confusing.

So here in this third book you have Scott Dillon, Jared's trusted friend and right hand man, meeting the human woman who he is destined to fall in love with and marry. (He actually already met her in book 2).

We learn here that the Antousians can take over the bodies of similar life forms. Scott's Antousian scientist parents took over living human bodies when their own were threatened by the deadly virus which is threatening to wipe out all Antousians. Scott hates the fact that he is Antousian and also half human, due to his parents' body swap. Due to some misunderstandings, he thinks that he is unattractive to the Refarian woman on the base, so cruises bars to pick up human women.

Hope Harper, an FBI interpreter, is losing her sight and also suffers from diabetes. Having accompanied Scott Dillon out of the airforce base, she now joins the Refarians in their struggle against the Antousians. She is madly attracted to Scott Dillon and him to her.

Then another man appears from the future. A man with an Antousian body, yet who seems to know Hope intimately. A man who claims that he is loyal to the Refarian king and has come back in time to stop a traitor and in so doing hopes to reverse the defeat of the Refarians 10 years on. So, who is this time traveller?

In this book, we also have the ongoing story of Jared and his human queen trying to become pregnant before the window of opportunity re. Jared's Refarian fertility closes.
