5.0 out of 5 starsExcellent, creative, and practical

This book blew me away. It is written as a narrative that starts out when a successful person bombs a huge presentation and ends with inspiration and triumph. The text has numerous, practical and creative ideas that I was able to use in my own job to improve my communication with audiences, but is also written in such an interesting and engaging way that I ordered copies for my senior English classes. My students have shared how nervous presenting is to them, and this book boils down traits of a fantastic presentation and makes it achievable by anyone motivated to improve their communication. A quick and interesting read.
5.0 out of 5 starsGreat book that tells a story so I can help improve my public speaking

It is apparent that so many people are terrible on public speaking at a Chamber event or networking event and people just don't take the time to improve themselves. I found that this book had tips and suggestions that were easy to understand because I could relate to the story. It is an easy read, easy to understand but very powerful what I got out of it. This book makes my Top 10 of best books I've read. Looking forward to more books by this author.

Hands down the best book on overcoming the fear of public speaking that I've read. If you have ever felt the fear, you will appreciate how this author describes your thoughts, emotions and body's responses during a presentation. Through his use of a captivating story, the author shows the path from fear to success. I've already put the strategies to use, and they work!
5.0 out of 5 starsA excellent read for the beginning speaker or someone with experience.

There is always something to learn in life and the author, Dale Dixon, has something for everyone. The book is a fictional story about an executive who has a fear of public speaking and who goes through a process of learning to speak with confidence. We get to listen to what he learns. It is well written and a quick read. Highly recommended. I have been in Toastmasters for more than 3 years and there were ideas in this book that I hadn't heard before. Great stuff!
5.0 out of 5 starsIt works for educators, not just those in business

I wish I had this book 30 years ago. I love the story format, it was a perfect example of what he is reinforcing in his presentation pointers. I have done 30 years as an elementary teacher. The last 7 years I have been teaching at a Community College and University. I am very comfortable in front of children, but I have always lacked confidence in front of adults! Dale's tips will greatly help in my classes, seminars and coaching student teachers, who always need lesson presentation guidance. My stories of children will teach content much better than the college text! I want my college Speech Department to read this book and consider as a future textbook, so I bought them a copy!
This is a book that takes a pragmatic approach to helping all people, including educators, to become more comfortable speaking to large groups of people. I think it would also be a great book for high school juniors and seniors to read and discuss. The book is narrated in story form so the author's voice makes you feel that he is talking directly to the reader.

Mack's story engages the reader in a heart felt journey for uncovering the communicator within. Every chapter begins with an inspiring quote and ends with a bullet-point summary. Invest in your next presentation and digest this book.
