5.0 out of 5 starsExcellent Audio Bible

I love this audio Bible! The narrator has a good voice and reads with expression, and the dynamic translation really lends itself to being listened to. My only complaint is that the narrator doesn't ever say the chapter number, and the chapter titles on Audible don't say the actual name of the chapter (e.g. it says chapter 12 instead of Genesis 12, Chapter 51 instead of Exodus 1, etc), so it can be very difficult to find the passage you're looking for. But I'm just listening straight through the Bible in canonical order, so this hasn't been a significant issue.
3.0 out of 5 starsDon't order if you need it in a hurry!

This item was to be a gift and was ordered a month before the birthday. It didn't come until after the date. In looking at the tracking, it traveled all over the East Coast to various stops before finally starting to more west. Item was sent book rate through the Post Office. The print is pretty small. I bought it for an elderly gentleman, and would not recommend this version with the small print.
5.0 out of 5 starsA good multi-purpose translation

I read a different Bible translation every year, and this is my first time with this translation. The language is clear and simple, but the ideas come through with the reverence I expect in a Bible. I gave a second copy to a friend who is learning English, and she found it more approachable than the translations she had seen until this.

Nice being able to read the Bible and actually understand what is being said in modern language. Also nice to have the same Bible that we read from at church. Much easier to follow than King James that I grew up with. It makes me want to keep reading more and try to use its teachings in my life.
This version of the Common English Bible makes it easy to understand the Bible. I use it along with the KJV that I gave my Dad a few years back. Going back and forth between the two brings meaning, understanding and clarity to the scripture I'm rading.
The Kindle edition of this Bible lacks a Table of Contents making it difficult to find passages. You can search for "John 3" which will take you to the 3rd chapter of the Gospel, but the search performed is a text one and is slow. I cannot recommend this Bible as it is.
