Dark Harmony was interesting and kept me on my toes for the whole story. The author uses Vivienne to delay the story through her eyes. I am looking forward to reading the next book to see how does in Virginia. Was easy to read & enjoyed all.

I've been riding since I was seven and I've owned horses for the last six years. I've never read book that was interesting AND got the horse stuff right. I can't tell you how may horse books I've read in the last 20 years that all kind of had the same mistakes (this horse was palomino in one chapter and chestnut later on, or he was a Thoroughbred in the last book and now he's a Warmblood) Silent Harmony was one of the best books I've ever read and Dark Harmony was even better. The story is fantastic and the characters are so real. The only annoying thing is the boy-related drama. She tends to go on and on in detail about Vivienne kissing her boyfriend or what he looks or smells like and I just don't care.. It gets overly descriptive and goes on for pages at a time. I've got my own boyfriend to smell and I'm not in high school so I don't give a hoot how hot Tristan is. However, the rest of the book totally makes up for those few pages I had to skim over to get back to the good stuff. Horses > boys. Every time, no exceptions. Also, Tristan shares a name with that jerk from Gilmore Girls and I'm looking at that as a sign of things to come.
Love this book! I can not wait for the next one in the series. Silent Harmony was suspenseful and dark Harmony was even better. The characters are colorful and lovable, except for the villains......evil and unpredictable. There was plenty of gripping suspense in the show ring and out. Even if you don't live and breathe horses, this book will not disappoint.
Well written and good character development. I liked the twists and turns in the story that no one saw coming. The only thing is she spent too much writing on some conflicts and didn't do as much horsey things as I would have preferred. But over all a very good series and mysteries that leave you shocked.

Not my usual choice of book ,but I did enjoy this mystery romance.I am not a horse person ,but this clearly is structured around the life of eventing, starting in the teenage years.I have to say I have learned from this book, and I hope the horse facts are true.
