2.0 out of 5 starsInteresting premise wasted by particularly bad writing.

The narrative was repetitive, difficult to follow, and on many occasions simply boring. The final raid was described as such a festival of incompetence, that if I was a law enforcement officer I would be genuinely insulted. The whole story reads as if a cheap romance author tried to write a detective novel and failed miserably.
This was an excellent thriller that kept you on the edge of your seat the whole way through the book. What the "bad guy" did to the victim was ingenious and gruesome all at the same time!! I have never come across that one in all my years reading true crime or thriller mysteries. I only gave it 4 stars because I feel it was unnecessary for all the bad language especially the use of the "F" word. You can have a good story without all that nasty language. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes true crime or thrillers. However, this book is not for those who are weak at the stomach!!!
Once I got into the story I did not want to put it down. You like the heroine and are sympathetic for the victim. The story could turn either way at any time. I finished the last 40% in one sitting. A little editing and a closer proof read would fix the few "oops" in the writing that did not take away from the story. High recommended for suspense fans.
The plotting was pretty good, and the characterization was better. One thing that didn't quite work was the amount of tension law enforcement was feeling in closing in on the suspect. A better job was done with the bad guy. Overall, not a bad book.
5.0 out of 5 starsAnother Cracker from Robert Walker

Once again Robert has nailed it with another instinct book. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat (or bed) absolute page turner (even though it is a bit gruesome) but this is what I love about the instinct books, the detailed description, you can't imagine any human being do this to another human being. I don't know where he gets his ideas from.. Would recommend to all thriller lovers out there
