5.0 out of 5 stars Mr. Pierce is seriously HAWTTTT!

Alayna is a bartender with a huge student loan to pay off. When her brother stops supporting her financially she had to look for another ways to pay off her debt. Enters Hudson Pierce, the seriously smoky mysterious new owner of the club where Alayna works.

When Hudson propose an offer to pay off her debts in exchange for her to pose as his fake girlfriend in order to escape an impending marriage arranged by his mother, Alayna took up the offer to get herself out of her financial woes.

But what she didn't bargain for is the sexual charged chemistry between them. What she didn't bargain for is to get caught up in the whirlwind tornado that is Hudson Pierce. And what she certainly didn't bargain for is to fall in love with a man who is not capable of love and with a whole lot of secrets.

Ms. Paige carefully keeps her readers on their toes with this one and I seriously cannot wait to continue reading the series to know what Hudson is hiding. This book is a definite winner!

I'll be honest I thought I would read Fixed On You because it had some great reviews and it was part of kindle unlimited and audible was included. I'm so glad I did Laurelin Paige may be my new favorite author. I love Kristen Proby and Sylvia Day until now they were my favorites. The book is a romance based in NYC rich guy chases hard working girl. Yet it so much more than that interesting twists and turns very well developed characters and three more books to continue the story. They are all good read them in order you will not be disappointed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok but missing something
Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2018

This book had lots of potential. It’s very reminiscent of works by Sylvia Day. However the story just seemed to go in circles. Guy meets girl. Guy asks girl to be pretend gf but girl falls in love. Pretty standard stuff so far. Right?

*****SPOILER ALERT *****

But in a normal story, there would be some sort of climax, then HEA. In THIS story, the climax seems to be missing. The couple never breaks up. They never stop having sex (which is 80% of the time). Their pretend relationship is never really challenged. Then one day she tells him that they are falling in love and the next day he basically says ok and decides they will be real bf and gf from now on.

Also, it feels unfinished. There’s no marriage or living together. The reason they were pretending hasn’t been resolved. Their addictions haven’t been resolved. None of their tempestuous relationships with any family members has been resolved. I get that the author wants to create a series of books but this is not the way to do it.

At the end of the day, I don’t even feel invested enough to read the next book in the series. I might read Found In You at a later time, but for now I have other priority books to read. I have read other books by this author that were vastly superior to this one.

I recommend reading books by Anna Zaires, J.R. Ward, and Gena Showalter that were recently released.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money

This is one of the worst books I have ever read, sorry I wasted my money on it. I read the first 2 books in the Dirty Filthy series by the same author and thought they were very good, even if the dominance of the hero (Donavan) made me uncomfortable at times...no you shouldn’t bang your prof or TA to improve your grade, sheesh! But the writing was excellent...strong, empathetic characters, solid plot development, hot sex scenes. This book didn’t even seem like it was written by the same author. Couldn’t empathize with either of the main characters...Alayna left me cold. Whiny, weak, kinda slutty, I didn’t get her at all. Hudson wasn’t very well developed and seemed inconsistent...sometimes dominating, other times weak and unsure. Neither one of them seemed believable to me. I usually read every single word in a good book, but with this one, I was skipping entire pages. Yuck. Do not recommend.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cliffhanger alert 🚨 Part of a series.

Story is 5 stars, but the lack of a true ending, made obvious by the story being continued in the following books, made me drop it down by 2 stars. So, 3 stars overall.

I really enjoyed this book, but hate that it ends with a cliffhanger, (or if not a true cliffhanger, at least no actual ending), requiring the reader to buy more books, at least two, just to get an ending. It reminds me of car lots where they lure you in with one price, but then it turns out you have to pay for things you didn’t expect.
A heads up to authors: This just makes readers wary of getting your other books because we’re afraid you’ll do this to us again.

I liked the characters and their interactions despite the fact that they both have some serious issues. She falls obsessively in love with everyone she dates; he uses and manipulates everyone he dates. She has had restraining orders against her because of her stalking tendencies; he has a disastrous reputation for destroying his girlfriends along with his relationships. They are both trying to rein in their unhealthy behaviors in this relationship, and they have some success because the other person understands what it’s like to feel a compulsion to exhibit unacceptable behavior, so they don’t immediately leave when the compulsions rear their ugly heads.
She has a brother whose interference only hurts her and makes her worse; he has a mom who is a cruel, uncaring witch.
So the question is, can they help each other to find a way to have a healthy relationship. You won’t find out in this book. You’ll be left with a cliffhanger and, given the number of books in this series, maybe not just one more cliffhanger, but as many as three more. I don’t know, because as much as I liked the story, I’m not willing to spend $20+ to buy the 5 book series. Yes, at one point it was called a trilogy, indicating 3 books, but is now listed as a 5 book set. It was good, but not that good.

2.0 out of 5 stars Deeply disappointing, even for a free book

Sorry but I don't understand all the other rave reviews. This simply didn't do it for me at all. Alayna's internal monologues were depressing and repetitive. None of her justifications for turning into a stalker had me convinced at all. She was just seriously messed up in her head.
Her brother did not have one redeeming feature.
For me the author did not make the two different sides of Hudson gel. It was as though she was talking about 2 different people.
And as for his mother - where do I start? Let's just say that if she was a stick of rock she would have 100% bitch stamped all through the middle. And yet any attempts at reigning her in were so pathetic they were unbelievable.
Can't be bothered to read another 2 books to see how it turns out because i just don't care enough about any of these people.

When I first read the book (the whole series), I couldn't help but love the whole plot and the characters! I enjoyed Laurelin Paige's writing and creativity, and couldn't put the books down until I knew what was going to happen.
The story made me smile, made me laugh, made me blush and sometimes made me frustrated, but at the end I loved it truly, and to this day, after reading many other books, this is still one of my very favourites.
All characters were developed and unsurprisingly, I loved Alayna and the day she was developed. She went through so many things but she came a winner at the end. And Hudson, with his awareness of his own lack of feelings, and then how he slowly blossomed into a real man, perfect for Alayna!
I would recommend the books!

3.0 out of 5 stars A good read

I'm not sure why this has so many five star reviews. Hudson's dialogue doesn't match his character with lots of cheesey lines. And, their relationship seems to progress too quickly.
His most intriguing background, doesn't feature at all. I feel it is a missed opportunity not to have exploited that side of him with Laynie.
Her mental health issues, meanwhile, do simmer to the top subtly but gets a little old...the jealousy in particular.
I envisioned something more, and I have read other books by Laurelin which have been much more deserving of five stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a find!

Kinda stumbled across this book - and how lucky I was!

The storyline is about Alayna and Hudson - she works in a club, serves a hot "suit" one evening and discovers that he is the new owner.
Hudson "hires" Laynie to be his girlfriend to get his mother off his back. Laynie and Hudson come to the realisation that having Laynie in his life, was pushing away Hudson's torments and demons and she really wanted him to see that their troubled histories should not define their future. Only would Hudson share her view?

There are elements of similarity to FSOG in this book, but Alayna is sassy and street - unlike her book counterpart. I loved her fragility, it resonated with me.
Both Alayna and Hudson have a troubled past, they have little in common, but the attraction between them is obvious and Alayna believes that they can "heal" each other.
The writing is carnal. The storyline is honest and raw and I loved the way the author presented a female lead who was love obsessive, had fixated and stalked when she thought she was in love. You rarely get that in a lead character, and I loved that this was true, not a romance seen through rose tinted glasses.

Follow up book downloaded ready to read now, I have no idea how it is going to pan out and for that I love it!

Love, love, love this book.

I've spent a few weeks trying to find an erotic romance book that can keep my attention and after reading many that I had to put down after 30% of the way through I stumbled upon Fixed On You through goodreads.

FINALLY an erotic romance that actually had a storyline and isn't focused on just sex, don't get me wrong..there's a lot of sex, but there's also a great storyline to go along with it. Great lead characters, Alayna although troubled can actually stand up to herself, Hudson.... mmmm Hudson Pierce, I don't want to ruin it for you ladies. You must find out for yourself what Hudson Pierce is all about, he doesn't disappoint lets put it one way.

Can't say a bad thing about this book, moving on to the second one as we speak.
