I actually finished this book on the 25th of the month, but I forgot to write the review until after the change of date. I really liked this book. It has a rather interesting ending, in my opinion. The characters keep getting better and better. I won't bore you with a plot summary as I know other reviewers are fond of doing that. I appreciate that this book has chapter demarcations. Chapter demarcations make it so much easier to find a stopping place when you need to do so. There were a few typos in this book also, but nothing to make it unreadable. The author continues to show her extensive knowledge and experience of TV and movies, which I love. If you liked the previous books in the series, I say you should give this one a shot because I don't think you'll be disappointed. Have at it!
This book is exactly why I always give an Author two chances to 'hook' me as a reader. This book was way more to my taste than the last one I'd read. In "Death by Pantyhose" there was a balance between the humor (which was more general,) and the actual murder mystery.
I truly enjoyed the e-mails from the parents and the inner 'thoughts' of Jaine as she bumps through her daily life while attempting to help others by solving crimes.
This book had it all, an interesting mode of murder, interesting locations and characters. The humor was bright and not so self-deprecating as in her last novel. Jaine Austen has a good soul and I just don't like her being so hard on herself. I like her.
Now, I am looking forward to reading her other books in the series.
Funny as all of Laura Levine's books. The expressions in this book are hilarious. There is also the Who done it? question. The usual cast of characters are also in this, They include Lance,Jaines shoe selling neighbor and Kandi, her long time friend. There is the e-mail dialog with her parents. Jaines Daddy is as foolish as always and Mom is busy with her TV shopping. The detective work is adventursome and a bit risky but she gets the job done. Allin all a funny, enjoyable read.
Ok, I love a Jaine Austen mystery! Jaine is clever, witty, likes a good cheeseburger, and isn't afraid to rock an elastic waist pant; we are kindred spirits! And, once again, she finds herself defending an innocent accused of the murder of a real jerk. Putting her life on the line, she investigates everyone on her "Suspects" list-and believe me, the suspects are a hilarious cast of characters.
I love Jaine, her neighbor Lance, her cat Prozac, and her friend Kandi. They feel like old friends at this point-I suggest you read all of her adventures. They are quite fun, and offer a quick read and an enjoyable escape! Plus, in this installment, Jaine even gets rewarded with a little romance! I recommend this one.
In this installment of the Jaine Austen mystery series, Jaine is hired by a comedienne, Dorcus MacKenzie, as a joke writer. Dorcus used pantyhose to throw at the crowd at the end of her act. Unfortunately for Dorcus, her rival who is also her ex-husband, is violently murdered with pantyhose. Jaine comes to the rescue again with lots of humorous scenes before she solves the murder. You will love Death by Pantyhose.
