Horror Stories From A Computer Tech, by Geekus Maximus, is a fun collection of stories from the perspective of the computer technician.
The stories remind me of a Christmas several years ago, when I worked in a hospital. One of the patient care units insisted on a computer technician leaving the information technology building and hiking some distance through snowy city streets in order to get their printer to print. The poor tech finally made back to his building, numb and near hypothermia. The tech had avoided frostbite via the heat of his righteous indignation. The printer was turned off. The tech turned it on. It was still printing its backlog when he headed back out into the snow.
This is a short, fun read. After you read it, ask yourself: Do you feel the pain from the computer-tech perspective, or the user perspective?
