This book picks up exactly where we left off in Biting Bad; Ethan has to leave Cadogan House so he doesn’t get arrested for murder.
Okay I have to say it the repetitive recap that is done in every book is getting a bit tedious. It’s the dam explanation every time: Ethan turned Merit into a vampire, she hated him now she loves him; and this is said in every book.
Now this book was a bit different because the vampires literally had nothing to do with the attacks and disappearances but of course they help solve the issue. Ethan and Merit week shelter with the Brecks shifter family and all is not completely well between them.
Gabriel comes to invite Ethan, Merit, Mallory and Catcher to a ceremonial “party” called Lupercalia; unfortunately things don’t go as planned. I was very impressed with Mallory in this book, she really doing well and repairing the damage she created.
With everything going on the Mayor Diane starts to go after the Houses and even assault Scott Grey. Merit decides its time to have talk with Seth and see what he can about the Mayor.
Lots of things happening, as always, but now Lakshmi has requested that Merit convince Ethan to challenge Darius and take over the GP, Greenwich Presidium. Merit was not too happy.
We also get to see Damien, Gabriel’s enforcer, who we met in Howling for You; I did not expect him to be so sweet especially with Boo.
I did enjoy this book, but I would have liked a little more Ethan and Merit content with just them for more than a second.
