This is a good read overall. Very different style from the first book.
The first book was more romantic. Cam was wooing Avery the entire time. Though we didn’t know the full details of Avery’s story, we suspected and there just wasn’t much suspense in it.
This story however is the opposite, less romantic, more suspenseful. Here we know Teresa’s back story from book 1. She’s a strong heroine, not a helpless damsel in distress. I personally enjoy Ed that.
We learn about Jase, who also has a difficult past/present. Jase has his moments, but he isn’t the super sweet and romantic type trying to woo her all the time.
As the love story develops, there is a tragedy on campus that shakes everyone. This brings suspense and danger to the mix.
Not the best book I’ve ever read, but still an enjoyable read.
