5.0 out of 5 stars Great premise for a story arc!

I loved the what if aspect to this book. As a Mom this story terrified me. Children carrying the infection that could end mankind is a great premise. And as a parent, could you or would you turn your children over to the government to humanely dispose of them?
Read this book and decide.

5.0 out of 5 stars Different

Nodding is a very interesting page turner. No zombies, Jacqueline Druga writes for adults. This book was about a virus that infected children. Children, a certain age, would catch this virus and become, well, terrors. If they attacked adults it was a death sentence. Strength, agility, speed, all flood their systems, giving them the ability to attack and devour a person in seconds! The CDC is baffled, the government is at a loss, and parents are mourning their children. The story does break your heart several times because you become invested in a character, and then, well, you have to read what happens. Once I start this author's innovative and imaginative books I don't put them down, and I must say this one is another keeper!

5.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Druga Yet

I have read most of Jacqueline Druga's books. I have like most of them. I loved, "Nodding". In my opinion, this was one of her best stories. As always, she researched her material, and wrote well, but "Nodding" just struck me as one of her most realistic and believable books. I didn't want it to end, though. I wanted the story to continue. It was fairly lengthy as it was, (which is a plus) but this was one story Ms. Drugs has written that I want a sequel for. What happened next after the ten years were up? I really enjoyed this book. If you are a fan of Jacqueline Druga or apocalyptic fiction, this will please most readers. Definitely five stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nodding, will hurt your heart, but the story is superb!

This story hurt my heart so much. And even with that I could not stop reading until I had finished it. The characters were easy to identify with, the story easy to get lost in. I had to stop reading several times so that I could catch my breath and step outside to see the sun shining and the world moving on, but I always came back to it, to find out what happened next. This story horrified me, but still I would recommend it as it is written so beautifully. Read it, knowing you will weep.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heartbreaking, but extremely well done

What a conundrum this book brings to life. A lethal disease carried only by children, that is slowly fatal to them, but kills adults within seconds---and the children suffer wild outbursts of mindless aggression. This novel brings to life humanity on the brink of extinction to heart-rending life. One one path, humanity will be saved, but the moral cost will be profound. The other path will lead to certain extinction.

Druga pulls no punches. It's a tough one, but she pulls out a redeeming end nonetheless.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loving Death

I found the fact that it used children as the plots main focus. Our children are the ones we hold dearest. The one we would give our lives for. I liked how the story made the ones we love the most become the most dangerous
horror in our lives.

Just finished this book, and I wanted to let the author, and others considering this book, know how much it impacted me! I literally cried through much of it... scary real, and heart wrenching. If you have kids, be warned, grab a box of tissues!
The author did an amazing job with making these people real... you feel for them, and I was hoping for a happy ending for all..I will definitely be looking for more by this author! Thankyou!

While character development was good, the pacing of the events was near perfect. It is very rare when an author can do both simultaneously. I do fear that mankind would not be as kind, nor generous if these same circumstances occurred in the world today. I like Druga's rose colored glasses, it was refreshing to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars An interesting idea, if a bit far fetched.

A nightmare scenario but I read it until the early hours of the morning. Having children of my own made it disturbing, but as with all this authors stories she brings a freshness to a sometimes overworked genre.

An interesting concept. I found the writing didn't flow well for me, too much back and forth, but the storyline was good. Worth reading.

An easy read with great characters and a refreshing take on an unoriginal theme. I cared about the characters and wanted to know what would happen to them in the end. Well written and surprisingly engaging.

I loved this book. I bawled at the end.. I only gave 4 stars because I wish there was an epilogue chapter to finish the book off. It ends nicely but it would be good to have got a year on update.
