I very much enjoyed this book. The whole series was wonderful. I thank Beverly Lewis for the inspiration she provides. "The Secret Keeper" was especially a special read for me. We often get so caught up in this world. Jenny had the right idea in going into the "plain life." To focus on the things of God and His will for our lives should be our focus. I admire the Amish people for their minimalistic life style. Thank you Mrs. Lewis for a wonderful thought provoking book. I look forward to more to come.
You can't go wrong with an Amish book by Beverly Lewis and this one was wonderful. Her books are the kind of books that make you want to get a cup of your favorite beverage, an snack and settle down for a good long read. I am a true fan of Amish fiction and this one keeps the standard high. The subject of the book is an English girl who wants to be Amish and her struggles to accomplish that. I felt like this is a situation that happens in real life occasionally, and so I enjoyed reading what this character went through in her attempt to change her life. The other side of the coin were the Amish girls struggling with the rules of being Amish. An excellent read and one I would highly recommend to all the readers of Amish fiction.

I have a ALL of Beverly Lewis' books and true to form, she writes with descriptive language that puts you right in the scene. I should be Amish by now but I am too big of a shopper so I live my Amish life through these stories:) Her stories are so much better than the others to try to write about the Amish. I have done a lot of research and been to Amish country. Beverly Lewis has lived there an has Amish heritage. She knows so much more first hand. What I love is that she opens the eyes of the unbelievers in her story and at the same time speaks to the reader. I have share these books with many friends and it some way I feel that I am sharing God too.

I really enjoyed this book and finished it fast. I'm a big fan of Beverly Lewis. I always day dreamed about what it would be like to be Amish. This book gives a great description of what it would be like if you where an outsider trying to join the Amish church. I felt like I was living through the character Jenny. I loved how the character Katie Lapp says you dont have to be Amish to live a simple life. There where so many pro found quotes that stuck to my heart. I felt the emotions and could relate to the characters. I love when a good book can draw you in like that. I love the Hickory Hollow series and how its all intertwined. I would recommended this book to anyone who always daydreamed what it would be like to be Amish. After reading I felt very peaceful and happy. I dont know how many books besides the Bible that can make you feel peaceful after reading!
Great book, I simply love to read the books of Beverly Lewis. They are keeping you to read on. This story about a young English woman, who is feeling so isolated in the English world, she wants to become a member of the Amish world. She loves the simple life they live. But doesn't think about how difficult it is to get used to how the Amish live their life. While reading you get a sneak peak about the getting used to live a simple life. Beautiful written.
I loved everything about this book. Not just the interesting aspect of an "Englisher" going Amish, but the life lessons Beverly Lewis so intricately weaves into her writings . If you've read Lewis' other books, your heart will be warmed to yet another trip to Hickory Hollow , revisiting the special residents there. Ella Mae Zook is a key player once again . The Lapp family , Katie and Daniel Fischer... The story goes on and you'll wish it would never end.
Beverly has outdid herself ,Oh goodness I could not put it down. and when I did It was not for long. This is such an exciting book and also we meet up with the Wise Woman again and lots of the people from her other books such as some from the Shunning . What a great book. Get it and catch up on all the ones we have read about and how they helped this young woman. I will say no more I do not want to give it away. This is one book you don't want to miss !!!

I have read this on the kindle
This is the 4th book in the Hickory Hollow series & it was a great one You have Jenny who is i guess you could say a old fashion girl who wants nothing more than to live Amish She had been writing to her Amish Friend for years & finally decides to go Amish
She feels the odd one out in her family & she don't tell them what she is doing but let them believe she going away for a long vacantion
She Struggles with trying to Prove herself & it a story of if she makes it or not she learns of a secret that can stop her dream so does she keep the secret & give up on her dream or does she tell & risk hurting someone
This is a great story of an English attempting to go Amish i wonder how any of us would do
