4.0 out of 5 starsWhat a strange trip this has been.

While I enjoyed the trip across the United States with these two characters and the unusual characters they met along the way the book never seemed to feel completely unified. Perhaps that is what the author wanted but I always felt like the three characters in the story—the author, the doctor and the brain—never connected fully. Still an enjoyable read with all kinds of insights into the life of Albert Einstein to research.
4.0 out of 5 starsGood book, just short of excellent.

A good book which I kept thinking "I wish it were better". This is an amazing story which kept my attention, but something is missing and I cannot put my finger on it. I wanted to tell the story my way, which, with a great author, you should never have that feeling.

Bazaar story of a young man who contacted the pathologist who performed the autopsy of Albert Einstein and removed his brain. He ended up driving him across country to deliver the brain to Einstein's granddaughter. Odd story but interesting. Fast read.
Enjoyed the authors writing style and will read more from him. Book subject was very interesting and I appreciated the history lessons interspersed. So glad I bought the book. Chuckled out loud a few times too

Did you know that Einstein's brain was stolen by the pathologist who did his autopsy? This fascinating book tells the tale of the man who tracked down the pathologist and accompanied him cross-country as they delivered the brain to an Einstein relative. Filled with biographic info from the genius' life, as well as insights into the well-meaning but obsessed pathologist's career and downfall.
