Easy, flowing style. Interesting characters and scenarios. I read this book out of order in the series. It held together, made sense, the pages practically turned themselves. Most interesting, for me, was the sister surrogate and the building of forbidden attraction to the baby's father.
After reading the last colony book, and being disappointed, I was hoping that this one would be different and better. WOW! I was not disappointed. With all kinds of twists and turns, this story is the best so far. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, a new turn to the plot. A woman acting as a surrogate for her sister isn't so far fetched, but add murder, mind control and mayhem, and you have one hell of a story. The characters are well developed and compelling. The ending is a promising lead- in to the next in the series. Looking forward to it.
I love the Wicked Lies series. They are well written, with interesting plots and quite well defined characters. Each book can be read as a stand-alone, though they make the most sense when read as a series, as the sub-plot that runs through all of them is more understandable.
The Colony is fascinating reading for those of us who love ongoing mysteries! I really like the developing relationships of the 'sisters' of this group and the thought of the family in a dynamic of separating from the only home the women have ever known. How many men have survived from this group is an on-going question and are most of them as evil and mentally disturbed as the first one who did so much harm to his sssters? Can't wait to find out what the team of Jackson & Bush have in store for us next! You go girls!!!!!
Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. I really love The Colony books. All the characters draw you in and you have no choice but to get attached to them. These books can be read as stand alone but reading them in order really helps with the history and knowledge of the Siren Song history. I loved the twist and turns in this book. I did not see some of the twists commingled and that is what makes me commingled back for more books from this dynamic duo. I can not wait until 2014 when the next Colony book is due out.
Lisa Jackson is one of my favorite authors. From the first few pages, on, my interest is kept and it's hard to put the book down. There is always some romance in her stories, but not graphic. The suspense is wonderful.
