I love Forgotten Realms, because I have read R.A. Salvatore's books, and thought it was time to give Ed Greenwood's writing a chance. I've enjoyed a few of Greenwood's books. I liked the first two books in the Shandril Saga. I liked the characters leading up to this third installment. Sadly, this book fell flat. The pacing was peculiar which would not have been bad unto itself, but the ending wasn't worth slogging through the rest of the book.
This book had a few fun moments but they were largely wasted in this book.
Oh well, I'd ordered a handful of Greenwood, so now I've moved on to reading more about Elminster. That seems to be rewarding thus far. If this is the weakest book in his lineup then that would be fine.
