This book provided great context and insight into the issue of sex-positive, third-wave feminism. A lot of individuals have noted the implosion feminism has suffered in recent years. While women have arguably never had more opportunity, they are not happy. Levy makes her claim that feminism has objectified women, encouraged women to act more manly, and be sexually promiscuous in order to be liberated. Throughout Levy's journey of interviews and exploration she highlights the exploitation women face as a result of sex-positive feminism and seems to argue that despite progress made, feminism has embraced the chauvinistic raunch culture it had previously protested against.
It's said if you can't beat them, join them. Feminism has currently been beat and joined in part with the misogynist patriarchal culture and society is sought escape from. Women deserve better than being paraded and objectified for men and other women.
