This is a good book. It's your basic gangster book but from the British angle. It might have gotten 5 stars had it not been for a few slow passages. At times a few of the supporting characters are a little flat but the main character is just great. It's well worth the $0.99 and the time you'll spend reading it.
Gangsters are still in!! This is a well written mystery novel concerning money and why it didn't get to its destination. Bet you will not figure out who was responsible. A good read, good characterization, descriptive and fun. Borders on the Godfather style. Well worth your time.
While the lead character may not be the person you want as a role model for your kid, this book was very entertaining and kept me turning pages! Very enjoyable and can't wait to get to the next book in the series. Cannot recommend it highly enough! It is a winner.
I am a person that finds reading more difficult when the author puts you in a foreign environment using their common language. Granted this story was set in England (and not actually foreign) but 'naught' breaks my thought of mind. Determined as I was, I kept reading but finally when at 75% of the book read was when I grasped the whole situation to pull it all together. A hard read but glad that I did finish reading to express my thoughts. This is not a thriller. It is a mob story. I believe one can find as much enjoyment watching "The Godfather" or "Scarface".
