5.0 out of 5 starsDouble The Suspense. Double The Reading Pleasure.

Christmas Confidential is a great read to get you in the Christmas way of thinking. Having been a fan of Marilyn Pappano for many years, I expected a great escape in reading her new release. I was not disappointed. Holiday Protector has everything you want in a romantic suspense story. Miri and Dean will steal your heart right away. I love the stories that bring couples with a history together to finally work out emotional issues and past transgressions. I would give Marilyn's story 5/5 stars without reservation. She has several series and I recommend Copper Lake and Heartbreak Canyon. I have read her books for decades and remain a faithful reader with good reason. I enjoyed Linda Conrad's story as well, as the plot was somewhat unique to others of this genre. There were many twists and turns that left me breathless at times. I wish this story could have been longer and allowed for further character development. I found the story line interesting but had difficulty believing Gage was as clueless as he seemed. I would have enjoyed the plot more had I believed the strength of the couple's connection. I have never read Linda Conrad before but will check out her other books because I found this work intriguing, different, and fast-paced. I give Linda Conrad's story 3.75/5 stars. You cannot go wrong in purchasing this book.
I'm giving this book four stars because of the first story. I empathized with the heroine on so many levels that I literally ached for her. The hero got on my nerves at first, but he really grew on me toward the end when he finally understood why she did what she did. He was always honest with her and called her on her insecurities, which endeared me to him because in my opinion the only way to have a relationship is to be honest at all times. Which leads me to the second story. I cannot stomach a liar. Although I understood why the heroine did what she did... I couldn't empathize with her or condone it. I liked the way the story concluded with the forgiveness factor, but wow... what she did to the hero was pretty low. A painful read. All in all, the book was full of emotion and written very well. Recommended.
5.0 out of 5 starsDanger and romance all wrapped up together during the holidays

Emotional issues and very real peril make this pair of seasonal stories enthralling because the scenes are continuously riveting. There is believability and sincerity in each situation, whether the moment is suspenseful with jeopardy or intimately passionate with deep caring. Marilyn Pappano and Linda Conrad makes the Christmas festivities more joyous as love unexpectedly causes futures to be much merrier. CHRISTMAS CONFIDENTIAL has danger and romance all wrapped up together during the holidays.
"Holiday Protector" by Marilyn Pappano
For the first time in over a year, Miri Duncan can go wherever she wants as her sentence at the correctional center is now completed right before Christmas. Going to see her sister is the first thing on her list, but not in the company of the man who was responsible for her imprisonment. Private investigator Dean Montgomery wants to help since he really does feel bad for what happened in the past and offers to drive them both to her intended destination. He also has one other objective for asking Miri to accept his assistance, but this purpose starts to change when truths are divulged and several events might be more than coincidences.
The talent of Marilyn Pappano shines in this engaging story with a Christmas theme. A complicated history between two individuals with separate agendas keeps the captivation set on extra high during every scene. This couple is truly delightful, as Dean is such a charmer and Miri is someone whom I applauded more and more as new facts became known. "Holiday Protector" has humorous touches, lots of emotion and quite a few shocking disclosures.
"A Chance Reunion" by Linda Conrad
It may be almost Christmas, but Gage Chance is definitely not in a festive mood because an incident that took the life of his wife still haunts him even five years later. Working a personal case in California has him coming in brief contact with a woman who appears eerily similar to his deceased spouse. When he tries to inquire about her, nothing he learns is very helpful but using his skills as a private investigator has him locating her again. Before Gage gets any actual facts about the woman who goes by a different name, her life is threatened and he becomes involved in keeping her safe regardless of her real identity.
There are mysteries plus action from the very start of the story, and the revealing of any answers is frequently packed with genuine emotions and astonishment. Linda Conrad perfectly balances the romantic aspects with the suspense, where feelings are conflicted and danger is ever present. Gage and the woman who reminds him of his wife are a notable couple, as the secrets between them are enormous while the sexual appeal is almost overpowering in its fervency. "A Chance Reunion" is steamy with lusty desire plus dangerous threats keep the intrigue escalating.

Christmas Confidential is a two in one Romantic Suspense by Linda Conrad and Marilyn Pappano. Both stories are fast paced and full of suspense with a secret that could get the hero and heroine killed. You won't be able to guess the secret each heroine is hiding, but you will be unable to put the book down until you come to the end.
In Chance Reunion by Linda Gage Chance is a professional investigator who is searching for a sister who was kidnapped at a very young age. Someone had sent him a message suggesting he will find what he was looking for in Pinon Lake. But when he arrives there is no sign of her anywhere but what he does find is a woman in danger who looks like his dead wife. They spend the next 100 pages running from the guys who are trying to kill them and they don't really know why.
In Holiday Protector by Marilyn Pappano Dean Montgomery who is a private investigator meets Miri Duncan as she is released from prison after spending 432 days there for imbezzling money from her employer. The first person she meets is the last person she wants to see but as the story continues she finds that she needs him to keep her alive. Someone is trying to kill her and she needs Dean to keep her safe even if she doesn't really want anything to do with him ~or so she tells herself.
Although I would buy this book because I love suspense and romance combined in the books I read I received this book from Linda Conrad with a promise to write a truthful review of it. And truthfully both stories kept me reading until I reached the end.
