How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Fullness of Time

Cat is a documentarian. She has the most unusual assignment of her life! She is to investigate the life of Hiram Granville. Hiram has made a fortune on his patents, and he's always been just ahead of another person about to apply for the same patent. She and Mercy, her researcher friend, will interview John, Hiram's son, and a man who made so much money on the stock market, that he had been accused of insider trading.

John convinces Cat to go for a drive with him, during which she learns the shocking story that explains why John has never before been out alone. He also explains how his father had arrived at all of those patents and why there have been so many suicides in his family. However, the explanation is one that she cannot believe. Yet what other explanation is there?

This sure is quite a tale! Nevertheless, Ms Wilhelm's characters and settings are realistic enough to give her story credibility. This is tenderly written, with compassion and gentleness.

The narrator, Ms Gavin, does an exceptional job of making this story come alive! This novella is something not to be missed! It makes the reader think about the price of success.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, with a whimper of a "climax"

I borrowed this audio book from the library as a way of killing time while on a long drive. Although the basic theme held great promise, it just fell flat. If the author had the interest (and skill?), she could have done a lot more in terms of exploring the special gift some people had. I don't want to give away any story points, in case some other poor soul decides to waste their time with this one, which makes writing a review difficult. Even so, I doubt I'll bother with others from this author.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Riveting

A good idea for a book... the description got me excited to read it but the conversations between characters are dull. There are no clever words, phrasing, or descriptions that make you want to read or hear more of this book. The relationships of the characters are shallow and you end up not caring what happens to Cat or any of the other characters except one. The only one I cared about spoiler alert... died... and there was not one word of sympathy or "Oh Rats!" when it was announced...
Spent your $ and time else where.
