It’s really hard to like the main characters. He’s overbearing and arrogant; she’s weak and ridiculous. I keep trying to read it through, but I find myself skipping whole sections and switching to other books. I guess I just don’t see the appeal in a man who manipulates and demands his own way and then takes smug satisfaction in it. Or a woman who is a doormat and doesn’t just walk out.
I love Jayne Ann Krentz. And I’m not sure how I missed these three books. I would have sworn I read them all. These books were written almost 30 years ago. So beware. They do not represent the author’s growth as a writer. They are from the time when the plots were the same and names and places changed. After reading the first one in the series I read a few other books before starting the second. And it helped freshen the plot. I read the third, “The Cowboy”, right after the second. And it was too soon. However they are quick reads, so read them however you want, in whatever order😁. What I’d like to see are a few more books with Dust Bunnies. These guys make great supporting characters🤗
I've been re-reading her older books. And I fell in love with her characters all over again. She draws you into their lives and stories and you want to know more. Romance, suspense and great story telling. You can't go wrong.
