I was looking between "Portuguese for Dummies" and this book... and "Dummies" won out. This doesn't have enough "meat" in it to satisfy my needs (true beginner in Portuguese language). "Dummies" gives the whole language thing plus cultural tidbits to boot.

Much too basic. A few words only, very little to learn. If I did't know them already I could guess. I had hoped for somthing useful for a visitor: how to order food, how to buy tickets, asking your way. But on the other hand, it was no financial burden. You get what you pay for; this book was free. .
