I gave this a four out of five due to its length and content. On the advice of my therapist I bought this book. I suffer from crippling anxiety and panic. This book is certainly helpful in understanding anxiety, but it gets deep into how to approach many situations and lengthy. Not a lot here on how to deal with anxiety disorders, just a few pages specifically on disorders. I'm glad I read it and I gained some wonderful "tools", but was looking for something more like Bourne's "Anxiety and Phobia Workbook".
Dr. Chansky has done it again and this time she has written a book that is and will be helpful for my whole family. I have purchased 2 copies so far, one for a son who no longer lives at home and another for the children, my husband, and myself to keep at home. The book is easy to read, easy to apply and full of common sense ways out of the holes we dig for ourselves.
This is a great book if you apply the suggestions one at a time. A great book to handle anxiety either if you are considered "normal" or are going through a depression. A good compannion if you do not have access to a psychologist....
This book gives you step by step instructions which are very useful, explains things in a very clear and gentle way, and also helps out with visual cues. I think this is a great book for those trying to overcome their anxiety.
this self-help book helped me more than any other self-help book that I have read. The author gently guides you through the anxiety to a peaceful state. I highly recommend this book to any one suffering from anxiety. it works!!
This book does a good job of explaning the source of anxiety and various coping mechanisms. It explores the idea that your thoughts drive your feelings. The key is being able to recognize when your thoughts have caused your feelings to move into overdrive.
The book is good reference source when particular issue arise.
