3.0 out of 5 starsLost Attention; Gained perserverance

Way too many characters to keep straight at the beginning, but toward the end, one realizes it just doesn't make any difference. I found my mind wandering; I found it very hard to pay attention to what was going on. When I again began to pay attention, I didn't think it was worth my time to go back and read again what I had slept through. It was a good story, characters well portrayed, absolutely no surpriseses and it has a happy ending. The ending just didn't come soon enough.
Exocet was a very interesting book. The way every one of different spy groups tries to outwit the other to get the best outcome. The Argentinean's were in the worst position of all, because they had no war experience, no spy's and depended on other nations to help them. The other nations were supporting them, to take advantage of the spoils of war. The ending was very good.

Not very good plot. Mr. Harris must not have had a very lengthy story line. Lots of fill - in with absurdly lengthy, much too sentimental love affairs. Also, heroes are given tremendously dangerous and arduous tasks to perform before being transferred to peaceful duty outside the war zone

Quite a good story based on real events somewhat wrong in places whether lintentionaly or not. The love aspect is highly dubious but logical in a novel. The sale & transfer of these missiles to Argentina has always been known by most British the frenchb & any other arms making countries can have blood on their hands. The actual intention is left rather open in the book although I know myself 1st hand that 15 year old lads were used by the argie. government & this was stated so in the text. So it sort of left the overall reason WHY?.. So many killed by a so called non available missile. A good if basic but not complicated book. Johnh.
