4.0 out of 5 stars I like the Texans series better than some others -- CHECK THE PAGE TOTAL PRIOR TO BUYING

Some of her books are about 150 pages and NOT worth the $5-6.00 price she is charging.

I refuse to pay $6.00 for a 150 page book. It is NOT worth it in the KINDLE FORMAT to pay that much money even if they ARE a best selling author.

3 stars -- not a good value for the price. YOU GO AHEAD AND CHARGE THAT MONEY DEAREST AND I WILL WRITE A COMPLAINT ON EVERY SINGLE BOOK REVIEW.

I STOPPED PURCHASING THIS AUTHOR DUE TO HIGH PRICES AND REPETITIVE STORY LINES.

Overall this book was okay and I am normally a huge Diana Palmer fan. However, if I have to read the words menial tasks again it will never be too soon. We get it she doesn't like to do petty crap. Why you have to continue to repeat that at least 50 times throughout the book is beyond me.

4.0 out of 5 stars *spoiler ahead* joclene vs cammy
Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2021

I LOVE Palmer's writing style, stories, and of course the characters. My only issue with this particular story is how easily and quickly joclene forgave/forgot cammy. Joclene was written with such a quick sharp wit that I was utterly disappointed that she said virtually NOTHING to defend herself or in defense/protection of her son when cammy laid into her at the ranch or even after in the hospital when cammy went to cover her own bum. I would have accepted an eventual make-up talk between the two but to have no fire from joclene was really disappointing.

couldn't disagree more with the negative comments. one reviewer didn't 'get' the heroine's witty repartee. i thought it was great. part of what made me like the book. i wish there were more thrust and parry like that in other romance novels. i get tired of all of the internal struggles when all the folks would have to do is talk to each other. this book wasn't like that. another didn't like the lack of steamy scenes. thank God for that. i much prefer that stuff be left to my imagination. so i guess it's different strokes for different folks. does make me rethink my choice not to buy a couple of other palmer books based on negative reviews. based on this, i'd probably like them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Suspense and consistent heartfelt love

Diana Palmer is a writer you can count on, she will provide highs lows and lead you to a happy resolve. I have always appreciated that her characters appear in multiple books. In this book we see both brother's in Kilraven and John, but we also see charters that we come to love in additional books such as Rourke. It is an easy read and well worth the time and the investment.

1.0 out of 5 stars "Been There, Done That"

As in her previous book "Dangerous", this latest Diana Palmer story is hopelessly caught in not only including the characters from previous stories connected with this current book "Merciless"....but using the first three quarters of the book to do just that.
I'm not sure it serves the devoted fans, such as myself, or new readers very well by using reading cycle time to rehash the old characters. Can't hurt, but maybe let's do with less in the future. Too much reading space is used for this and not enough sensual love scenes Palmer is famous for all these years.

I suspicion this book is penned by another writer or assistant with much influence. As a devoted fan, I will certainly purchase another publication by Palmer...but so far I would suggest to any fan....if you have read "Dangerous"....this book also spends countless pages re-introducing familiar characters from other Palmer stories.

I fear the same about the next book...there's always hope!

3.0 out of 5 stars Diana's Debacle . . .

So, I am a die-hard Diana Palmer fan. I was mortified (truly) at this book. It seemed disjointed, poorly written, and without any sort of her normal flair. I was so disappointed - especially since the book is the culmination of a long-standing character. I didn't think it was put together, well researched, or at all up to her standards. I will remain a loyal reader, but sincerely hope that her next book is up to par. This one will not be re-read, which is a shame.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed

I was looking forward to this book as it appeared the lead characters had some omph and at last at weren't victims of abused past (as previous DP books).

Jocelyn & Jon were good charactors but there wasn't that much of their relationship (compared to book length IMO). There was way way too many pages spent repeating previous information from this book and previous books. I know there will be some as the books are linked but this is the 3rd involing this mystery!

It's almost as if DP gave the plot to someone to write up and the blanks were filled in without fleshing out the story. Jon and Jocelyn should have been sparkie but it just didn't happen.

I think I'll have give up on DP (too much repetition, too much video games referencing).

I feel a bit mean but if you compare this to earlier books eg Lawless, After Midnight or Desperado they were in different league engaging, concentrating on the chsracters and virtually no "filler"

Twists and turns, vebal sparring; yes the plot was a bit far fetched but we must remember this is fiction. I couldn't put it down -I enjoy the Jacobsville stories.

I loved this book in the series set around Jacobsville. The characters are perfect, the story line so involved around each character, and as always the great ending. I hope that Diana Palmer writes more books around this setting.

This book was hard getting into and I struggled to the end. Great premise but bad execution. Simply written with too much of the story being told rather than experienced. Wasn’t a big fan of the characters either.
