I've read enough Sherryl Wood books to understand her type of writing. Its not a deep throughout story that will get you thinking in complex ways. If you have nothing to do or simply want to enjoy a light-hearted story this is the book for you. Perfect for Hallmark which is why they made this into a show I guess. I am sappy love store kind of girl. :D
Woods returns with book 7 of her Chesapeake Shores series. This time the focus is the relationship of the “not dating” couple, Susie O’Brien and Mack Franklin. Mack has finally decided that it is time to act, to move his relationship with Susie from friendship to serious love interest. One of the strongest books in this popular series, Beach Lane is a rich, emotional read. I’ve looked forward to Mack and Susie’s story, but it exceeded my expectations. Friends-to-lovers is one of my favorite themes, and Beach Lane includes some wonderful scenes that show the transition in Susie and Mack’s relationship.
Very disappointed in this book. Conflict based on keeping secrets. Boring dialogue. There's just no sparkle. Facts wrong: ie. Breast cancer is not treated with a biopsy and surgery all in one setting. You have to wait for the biopsy results. Extremely disappointed in lack of real conflict and not doing basic medical research. I have loved Ms. Woods books in the past, so this was a real let down.
