This whole series is great! My son started this series in Junior high. He wore out his books and bought himself a new, all hardcover set for himself years later in highschool. I bought the first two books for my daughter in Junior high now and she flew through them, and can't wait to read the rest. I read these books with my son when they first came out and it is really just a fun, interesting, exciting series.
I have to say, this book was great! Vladimir Tod is the coolest, hottest, and most fangtastic vampire ever! Not only does Vlad have a good heart and mind, he has a sense of fear and mortality that most books can't capture. He maybe a vampire, but he is also half human, a weakness compared to other vampires. They look down on him and call him a mistake, either to his face or in their messed up head. Either way, Vlad knows what they say. He will have to face challenges for both the human world and the human world. The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod is a really great series. Every middle school to college boy or girl will have a fun time reading this awesome book. You know what they say, this book bleeds goodness!

My son is 13.5 and going into High school this September. He has started reading Dan Brown and such but still enjoys Rick Riordan books as well. I thought these Heather Brewer books would be a good segue from middle school to high school books. He devoured this series and would like to request that the author write some more please. I was sort of happy that he never showed much interest in the twilight series but obviously we've nothing against vampires in general.
I paged through the books and thought they seemed on target for high school age. I think the book covers are a hit.
This Book Series by Heather Brewer is very good. You become attached to the characters. The growing relationships between Todd and his human Aunt Nellie, his guardian and his friends. His interaction with his Vamphire Uncle Otis is indearing. His close growing friendship with Joss the Vampire slayer and the Goth kids. I would highly recommend this series to any reader from teens to the older generation who just enjoy a good read.
Oh my... I can't believe that Heather ended this book the way she did... poor Meredith. Poor Vladimir. This book hooks you with in the first chapter. It just keeps getting better. I would suggest to anyone getting into this series, to go ahead and get all the books at once. For as soon as you finish the first one, you'll wanna jump right into the next one. Tenth grade was shell of a year/read. A definite recommend to anyone remotely interested in vampire fiction. Make sure a friend also reads it, cause you'll wanna talk about it with someone afterwards. Special thanks to heather brewer for getting me reading a lot more... again.
