5.0 out of 5 starsYours Truly, Lucy B Parker

I am a few years older than a 'teen', but I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I'm anxious to read the next!! Lucy is hilarious and easily believable! I laughed, I empathized, I understood! This is a fun story of a young girl forced to move and become the younger step-sister of a huge star. Lucy is someone I'd like to have as a friend - her insecurities remind me of me!
5.0 out of 5 starsUnique Voice of a Memorable Preteen Dealing With a New, Famous Sister and life in the Big Apple

Lucy B. Parker is a spunky girl but whose life gets upended when her mom starts dating superstar Laurel Moses's dad. She's concerned that there might be a sudden onset of her first period, and that she's losing her mom to a new life. For help, she writes to TV show host Dr. Maude, in a series of increasingly hysterical, and hilarious, notes. She has to learn to navigate her new New York City life (including taking the subway to Queens--admit it, New Yorkers, who hasn't done that at least once?), but thankfully has a helpful doorman (who tells her where to find the best cupcakes) and Laurel, who has more going on than it first appears, while dealing with things like The Hat Incident (you have to read the book).
This first in the series from fairy tell reteller Palmer (Cindy Ella, Geek Charming, Little Miss Red) is charming, and Lucy's voice is unique and memorable. Lucy will certainly appeal to fans of Meg Cabot's Allie Finkle series, and I'm looking forward to reading about more of her mishaps and adventures.

This book is called: "Yours Truely, Lucy B. Parker" and it's book #1 in the series. The book is about Lucy a normal teenage girl and her mom dating a superstar. Blah blah blah blah same genric trash crap. Most tweens & teens (including me) are tired of these plotlines. This author was not creative nor spontaneous. The book in general was fine. Will not continue to read this series, even though it was ok. I'd rate this 3.3 stars. ~Emma,13,CA
