5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty well thought out prequel.

I'd say I'm pretty impressed with Lisi Harrison. Though I haven't finished the whole series, she's managed to create a prequel that makes sense with the rest of the story which I assume would take some planning and thought. It's entertaining to see how The Clique came to be. The only thing I thought was out of the ordinary was *minor spoiler* when Claire was on tv. Seems to be either retconned or a plot hole... Anyway, if you love The Clique, read the prequel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Charmed and Dangerous the Prequel

When I heard of this book I was very excited to buy it. I opened this book and found all of the rich-girl glamour that I loved about the original seiris. I loved the charm theme and the punny title but I raised my eyebrow at a few small details. Number one was the girls age. Apparently they are in fourth grade and still at OCD. The second is the setting. The whole book centers around News Years Eve. It would have been nice to see more of the Pretty Commitee's early days, such as taking over OCD or their first friday night sleepover. However, the whole thing is tied together nicely, and there is no visible out of order off details. Out of Ten I give a 9. Enjoy Reading!

Again - gifts for my niece; ended up sneaking a peek at the content. Cute stories - a bit on the shallow side, regarding labels and monetary things but its still a good little series.

This is an awesome look at how the four girls met each other and their struggles before they ruled OCD. Would gift to a 11-12 year old girl, however, not a good gift if she isn't already reading the clique series. Best read when the reader is familiar with the characters.

I really like this book, and would recommend it to my friends. It's the clique prequel and what the clique was like before they meet and how they met and became friends.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as Good as I Hoped

I've been reading the Clique books since 2005, and was looking forward to experiencing how the Pretty Committee comes together. However, rather than seeing the roots of their friendship grow slowly, the events all take place over one night, New Years Eve. As Claire was not in Westchester during the time the book was set, she has her own storyline which feels more like a bolt on that only ties in with the other girls once.

I did enjoy the book at times yet it was a lot better than a lot of books that I have read but compared to the Clique series it wasn't as good. The book is also quite short with a large print, and the story appears rushed in places, for example it would be nice to see Massie interact with the other clique as their Beta a bit more. But overall the book was a fun, quick read that will appeal to fans of Lisi Harrison's series.
