4.0 out of 5 starsWell-Done Lectures
Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2013
This series of lectures takes us from the Renaissance to the Age of Enlightenment, beginning with Machiavelli and ending with Hobbes. In between the lecturers -- there are three of them -- cover a lot of ground, particularly Renaissance art. I thought the material on the "northern" European Renaissance artists was superb. The lectures mostly dwell on the cultural evolution of the times, less on the political and religious turmoil. I found this to be a most enjoyable and enlightening series of lectures.
