Not only are the contents of this book eminently sensible & truthful, but the writer describes with honesty his own battles.

The issue of speaking your partner's language cannot be underestimated, and may bring with it incredible benefits. Furthermore, failing to do so, comes at great cost to many.

When read in conjunction with the writer's other book, The Five Love Languages, this book proves a valuable resource when applied to life.

This is one of the most practically useful books I have read since The Five Love Languages.

I am 91% of the way through this book (according to my Kindle) and once again, author Gary Chapman is spot on when it comes to relationships and communication. My husband is not the type to read self-help books and I accept that. But by me reading this book (and The Five Love Languages), I begin to apply some of the methods that Mr. Chapman suggests and, immediately, I see a difference in the way my husband (and others) respond to me.

I think the books are a must for any one who wants to improve their relationships with friends, family or a spouse. This book, Now You're Speaking My Language, is definitely aimed at enhancing the reader's marriage through better listening and communication skills. It takes you, step by step, through the different aspects of each and why we sometimes react the way we do... The set, The Five Love Languages and Now You're Speaking My Language would make a wonderful gift to a newly married couple or a great anniversary present.

I highly recommend this book and The Five Love Languages.

Excellent info that I haven't heard before. All of a sudden, many things make sense. Maybe he bought her flowers (his love language is gifts) and she wanted to be held and cuddle (her love language is touch.) Many people have observed that we usually give what we'd want, and now it makes sense. I didn't know there were different ways people express affection.

If your partner will take the quiz, then you can have a conversation about expressing love in the way your partner needs.

we have not started watching the dvd yet but from what the dvd says on the back its just a one hour clip from a longer series. I don't understand how its a bible study and goes with the books that have a lot of questions for each chapter. I thought it was a hour or so for each chapter to watch, but it seems its just an intro to the book. I guess when we watch we will see better but doesn't seem to serve its purpose. I guess its literally for one couple not for a couples bible study like we wanted. Probably would not have bought if that's the case since we already have a copy of the book.
