This book is awesome! I have been trying to find a Christian viewpoint on how to be a better mom, and the Holy Spirit lead me to this book. Not only does it give information about taking care of tantrum issues with your kids, but it gives moms the info we need to become not just a better mom, but a better follower of God's word. One of my favorite chapters is titled, "The Ladies Pity Party". This chapter goes in detail how complaining and whining robs us of God's will and goodness for our lives. One other good thing about this book is that you can read the chapters out of order, and not miss what is being taught. So go right to the chapter you need most even if it is in the middle of the book. The book is also designed to be done by a group setting, which I think would be cool. And it provides a study guide with the book.
Overall this was a good read...but some times I would read a section and think "This isn't realistic!". There are some good and practical parts but I find it hard to believe that anyone could follow through with this philosophy completely. There is no real discussion about what to do if you fall short as a 'positive mom' or how to handle the really bad days...
Amazing book! My MOPS group used this for our Bible study / book club, and many of us are planning on reading it again soon. Very impactful book - inspiring, uplifting, she raises the bar while simultaneously encourages you and makes you believe that you CAN be that kind of mom! The discussion questions are very helpful, whether you are reading this on your own and want to get more out of the book or reading this as part of a group.
I just started reading this book several weeks ago and find my self re-reading certain pages over and over again. What a wonderful piece of work for moms to have.
This book is a guide that inspires and directs you into a Godly path of being a positive mom. Aside from God our children have us as their guidance in life. The power we posses as mothers can be extremely damaging or extremely positive.
"The Power of a Positive Mom" encourages us to take the longer road of being that insight of positive radiance in the lives of our children
