The ball was in Callie's court, how hard did she want to solve it. The man who killed her husband is somehow connected to Tom, the man she now loves. The office, the foundation, is it all a ruse, the money comes for the grants. A different way of looking into a mystery. To solve, then maybe her and Tom could be together. or would the truth and his connection to what happened with her husband, destroy it. Great series, and this was a good plot. Full of enough twists and with the hope of a happy ending.
This is one of a series, and is excellent. Some of the best fiction mystery writing I hae read in years. And that is saying a lot as I read 4-5 books a week! All mystery genre. There is a moral message in these books, but well-done, entertaining, unable to put down as the plot thickens!
One of the best mysteries I have read lately (I read all the time so that is significant) the book has a unique story base and unexpected twist to the story keep you reading without guessing what is around the corner (or next page) . Characters are believable and interwoven in a very good plot and finish. Like a good story, mystery, solid writing woven into a very good book. READ THIS
This is the last book in this series and I was sorry to see it end. Great author. This book is a good mystery and has good suspense. I don't want to say to much about the book since it would spoil it for you. The series begins with a mysterious boss and through each adventure, Callie learns a little more about her boss. This book wraps up the mystery and all the secrets are revealed.
Loved each and every one of the Million Dollar Series. The only thing I can complain about is that this is the final book, I'm going to miss these characters and their stories! The author is a wonderful story-teller who weaves Christianity naturally into her stories...no "preaching", just genuine characters who have real relationships with Jesus. This was a fast-paced, busy novel with a lot going on, but I never got lost or felt like she didn't wrap up everything enough. Great end to a great series!
The story has you always asking who could be the traitor. Why doesn't he tell her what would cause problems in their marriage if they got married. I thought that he was involved in her first husband's murder in another way because his job was always really working for the government unscrambling messages that would protect our country from harm. The story toward the end made you start to narrow the suspects down. All the people involved in the first business I felt could be guilty for awhile. Good series. Could not put it down.
While I cannot give any if these, that I have read so far, a five star rating. I have really enjoyed them and want to read the rest. And for the most part, I don't figure out the killer until close to the end. Which I really like that they are not predictable. I think you could read them as stand alone titles, I do think they are better if you go in order.
