5.0 out of 5 starsA Book Every Woman (and Man!) Should Read!
Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2016
Good old fashioned and in your face advice about what marriage is really all about and what you can expect! I really like the section about why living together, especially for women, is not a good idea if you want to be married. Well, my wonderful boyfriend said something about us living together and I told him "absolutely NOT" I need to have security and a commitment if he wants me to give up where I live and my friends, my activities and my way of life, I will not go into an unsure situation for just a boyfriend, but I would for someone who wants to be my husband! Then his idiotic idea that marriage is just a piece of paper changed to "I get where you are coming from and I think you're right" YEP! It's called value of oneself and of one's needs and wants. Every woman should read this book and especially the one about NOT LIVING TOGETHER! She is an awesome writer and it is just about good old fashioned values and reality not fairy tales, which seem to be lost on the current generations!
Read this over 25 years ago when I first graduated college. Best dating advice ever! Been married over 20 years now, mostly because I married the right guy (thanks to this book!). Buying a copy to each of my daughters before they go off to college and start seriously dating...

I first read this book 20+ years ago in anticipation of my second marriage. It was not around for my first marriage but I wonder how things might have been different, had I known some of the information in this book.
I am just getting ready to give my copy to a niece getting married, as well as celebrating our own 20th anniversary. There's some good, practical and useful reading here.
