4.0 out of 5 stars Very enjoyable

I had hoped this book would pick right up where the previous one had ended, but it didn't. However, it didn't take me long to get wrapped up in the story that started about 8 years after Book 1 ended, but many of the characters were familiar which is what makes a series like this fun for me.

There was good intrigue, touching moments and good highlights of faith. The good guys are good. The bad guys are bad. And there's redemption and forgiveness in the midst :)

There were some things that felt a bit over the top that keep this book from being 5 star, but so far the series looks to be a solid 4 stars, which for me equals VERY enjoyable and ones I'll definitely read again as well as recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Historical Faith Journey!

I am a historical fiction fan. I am interested in what those in my extended family might have experienced in years gone by as there are no old journals.. I really enjoyed learning of the experiences of the characters and found it very well researched. I know its a good book when I put it down and am longing to learn more of the characters several days later. A word was used within the story which will stick with me forever. Its the word "Shriven". I will never forget the experience of the character, Lillian as she became aware of the forgiveness which she felt from the Lord. I appreciate it so much because I can truly relate. Thank you T. Davis Bunn & Isabella Bunn.

5.0 out of 5 stars The intervention and new lessons

What's it like to live in fear of being or doing something wrong? Can I really find a way out? How could God love me? These and more questions are answered in the story of growth and adventure and new beginnings. A story of strength. As always you can not put this book down for more than a few minutes, I wanted to read the next page and feel the excitement carrying me along. Good reading.

2.0 out of 5 stars Whisper sync less expensive audio not available.

Even before I read or listen I am a little disappointed that I could not download the less expensive whisper sync audible for the kindle/audible price. I listened to the first book and it was wonderfully read. Great voices, accents. Amazing. It filled my car time and even my grandchildren were mesmerized. Thank you Suzanne for being so amazing at your craft.

4.0 out of 5 stars another thrilling story

There was so much in this book that was similar to my own life. My daughter can be much like the character Abigail. My hope and prayer is her life will turn around like in the story. It gave me hope and prayers to pray! Sometimes when we are going through stress in our own life reading a book such as this will help us and bring joy in our life's through the characters, and draw us closer to God.

I loved this book very much. Was well written and researched. HEIRS OF ACADIA series is a wonderful series. Everyone should know this is picked up from the first series SONG OF ACADIA. Have the Kleenex handy by Janette Oke, Davis's mother-in-law.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book.

I am always thrilled to read a book that includes Wilberforce and the joy of following God, but would like to read more about the inner changes God makes and less about the outer trappings. I admit that it's interesting to read about clothes and society of the times, but not as much as God in our lives.

I liked the book as a whole, but felt it was a little scattered in the time frames. And a little challenging to keep track of all the characters and how they fit into previous books.
