We bought this for my 2-year old daughter (Nora). It's a cute story about a middle child is overlooked. My only criticism is the older sister repeatedly asking "Nora, why are you so dumb?" We have taught our kids not to call people dumb, so this is a little unfortunate. I edited it to "glum" in our copy :)
I have always loved this book. Used to read it to my kids who are now 30 and 35 and am now reading it to my 21/2 year old granddaughter! Bought this one for a little girl named Nora. My old copy is small with black and white illustrations. This edition has updated illustrations that are in color and the book is much bigger. It's a beautiful edition of a lovely story.
My 2 year old girl loves this book, and has it memorized. We had checked it out from the library a while back, then after returning it she kept asking for it, so we had to get it. Over-priced, but it is a nice hardback book with a book jacket and gets almost daily use.
