Gemma Jerico, an ER doc in a busy New York hospital, lives as a single mother with no life other than work and home--except every Sunday when she and Livvie, her 14 year-old, go to "Nonna's" for Sunday dinner. It is a family ritual--that is, until Nonna receives a letter of inheriting a villa in the city of her birth in Tuscany. Nonna, in old custom ways still dresses in black for her lost husband of years ago and pinches every penny, decides they are all going to see what she inherited and so the journey begins.
This is a light-hearted tale of secrets, intrigue, romance, disappointments and change all the way around. The story was an easy read and moved along at a nice speed with lots of local color of the Tuscany countryside and way of life. If you want something fun to read, this might be it.
