This is the fifth book in the Lost Fleet military series, a series that I recommend very highly for its space battles. I read this book at high speed and rooted for its hero from start to finish. That said, I found the plot perhaps too similar to earlier books in the series. On the plus side -- significant spoiler warning -- the book ends by bringing a major arc of the story to a conclusion. Despite some quibbles (outlined in my review of book 4) I've greatly enjoyed the series thus far, and am plunging straight into the sixth and final book.
About my reviews: I try to review every book I read, including those that I don't end up enjoying. The reviews are not scholarly, but just indicate my reaction as a reader, reading being my addiction. I am miserly with 5-star reviews; 4 stars means I liked a book very much; 3 stars means I liked it; 2 stars means I didn't like it (though often the 2-star books are very popular with other readers and/or are by authors whose other work I've loved).
