5.0 out of 5 stars THE FAMILY FRYING PAN IS IN THE TOP TEN BOOKS IV'E EVER READ.

Hilariously funny, well written, as are all Bryce Courtenay's books. His books are relevant no matter what year you read them in. I read this book many years ago. My husband however is new to the wonderful Mr. Courtenay's book's, and is wonderfully surprised at what a wonderful author he has missed all these years. This book made me laugh at some stages so much, I had to clutch my stomach, as I laughed and literally rolled on the floor with tears raining down my cheeks. I had stiff stomach muscles the next day. Do read it, you will find it inspiring, hilariously funny, sad, courageous, poignant and so much more. It's just that kind of book.

The Family Frying Pan ties a group of people together who share their stories as the journey goes along. Very rich characters and the depth of the stories is impressive as always with a Bryce Courtenay book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A sequel to Fiddler on the Roof!!

Perhaps the most enjoyable Bryce Courteney novel I have read. And that is saying a lot as I have enjoyed many of them. To thing it relates to real people and events made it even more interesting. A nice blend of fiction and non fiction told in a very easy to read form. You could consider it a sequel to Fiddler on the Roof !!

Not exactly a novel like Mr. Courtnay's other, but highly entertaining nevertheless. I very much enjoyed it although it was just not long enough! (I like my nice thick novels!)

5.0 out of 5 stars The Family Frying Pan

This book is based on a true story. The main character is the Family frying pan, which is in the care of Mrs. Moses. The story takes place in Russia, where the Jews are being killed just because the Cossacks feel like it.As the the group of people come together at night to make a meager meal in the frying pan they each take turns telling their story. Each chapter is different making it a great book if you can only read a chapter at a time.
Bryce Courtenay is my favourite author. Enjoy
