4.0 out of 5 stars HOT but Slightly Dissapointed.

3.75 stars. I am both dissapointed and happy with this story.

I loved the relationship between these three men. I think the author did an amazing job at making this story realistic. I loved the angst, the passion and the heat. And there was a lot of heat. The build up of the relationship and the thoughts each had was worth the read.

However...

I was unaware that this was not an MC read, I mean I knew it was going to be less about the MC and more about these characters, but the MC was almost non-existent. Also, I am incredibly greedy and wanted more of the relationship in the early part of the book. It took until 60% or so before the thought of the three of them become in issue; the story also ended abruptly and without flair. It just sizzles out, I don't know if that is for a "book 2" or not. I kept thinking I was going to get some action, but at last nothing.

Overall, it was a great story, but does gave me second guessing any future pre-orders. Just because I love an author, doesn't mean I will love each book. Thus book is worth reading, I just wanted a bit more.

Oh and one more thing. I don't know how others feel but this was almost a deal breaker for me: there is animal abuse mentioned a few times troughout this story and it was not lusted in a trigger warning. This is a hard limit for me and I am increadably dissapointed that I had to read about it without any warning. Bumner.

4.0 out of 5 stars Characters are everything

The main thing all romance novels have in common is the focus on character. If the audience cares about the characters, and can bond with the characters, they will love the book. I haven’t seen this illustrated anywhere better than in Out Of The Blue.

Out Of The Blue, by Lila Rose, is a m/m/m book about a paramedic and two police officers. There is also a motorcycle club involved, which I don’t think I realized when I picked up the book. (Hey, one-clicking these BookBub deals is way too easy… and fun… I’m just saying.) Anyway, this is a second chance romance (which is my kryptonite, as I’m sure you’ve all figured out by now) and a workplace romance.

The book has everything I want in my entertainment. It’s got mayhem, murder, violence galore, sweet and tender moments, some very steamy portions, and dogs. My personal favorite character, Easton, has six dogs. This may be why he’s my favorite character.

I absolutely fell hard for Easton. I loved that he wasn’t this perfect, suave hero. I loved that he was awkward. I loved that he had moments of fear and doubt. I also loved that he overcame them.

Lan took a little longer for me to overcome, largely because of the way he broke Easton’s heart in the past. As he came to acknowledge what he’d done, and I could see he understood his issues, I could accept him and love him.

Parker – I won’t say I ever came to love him. He made Lan and Easton happy, but I was never a fan. He kind of embodied Toxic Masculinity, and his certified Tragic Backstory didn’t excuse that sort of behavior. He was an ass.

Now, I have to take a moment to acknowledge some issues with the book. The sex is all back-loaded (pun not intended, but I’m leaving it in there because I’m secretly twelve.) There are a lot of scenarios that just plain aren’t realistic or don’t make sense. Easton’s father, Amit, is evil for the sake of being evil and considering his background it makes me a little nervous about stereotyping.

The thing is, I never noticed the issues in the story until after I put the book down. I had to step away at the 50% mark because of work, and then illness. I didn’t pick up on any of the above issues until I’d been away from the story for twenty-four hours. I was in the car on the way to my daughter’s first NHL game when I caught myself thinking, Two cops in a motorcycle club and it’s not going to raise any red flags with Internal Affairs? Not likely.

And then a couple of other little things stood out at me.

When I went back to the book, once again, I no longer cared. That is how powerful strong characters are in romance. I loved Easton, and Lan, so much I didn’t care about any of the plot holes. I noticed them, but they weren’t important to me.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful addition to the Hawks MC world!

Another amazing story in the Hawks MC series, Out of the Blue is part of the Caroline Springs Charter. While the characters aren't members, they are closely tied to the MC. And I know I've been looking forward to their story for a long time! Out of the Blue is a story that you will totally regret not reading.

Lan is a detective. He is also a friend/family member of Hawks MC. He is always there when they need him. But he still holds part of himself separate from them, there are parts of who he is that no one knows. There are things in his past that he regrets, things he would do differently, if he could. Parker is the enigma in this story. He is the one that no one knows anything about, even his partner. He lets no one get close, lets no one behind the shields that he holds high. Easton reminds me of a tamer version of Julian! Loveable, loyal, caring. I just can't say enough about how much I loved Easton! He really ties the entire story together!

These guys had a difficult path to tread, and many things stood in their way, including their own thoughts and misgivings. I wasn't sure how it was possible for things to have a positive outcome, because it could have easily turned out different. This author has a way of making you guess what is coming next, even if you are pretty sure of the endgame, your predictions are never even close to what actually happens! Just when you let your guard down, something crazy happens, completely out of the Blue, and your heart is pounding again!

This author is one that I one-click with no question. I love the Hawks series, as well as everything else that she's written. I also consider myself to be a pretty open minded reader. I've read and loved all kinds of books. Bikers, Rockers, Sports, Menage, MM, MMF, MFM. I'll read most anything. But I had to stop and think about this one! A MMM menage book?!? What in the world! But I've read an MM book, as well as a MMF book by this author, and know how much I loved them. And I've been looking forward to the story of these characters for such a long time! So, I dived right on in. I'm so glad that I didn't let those pesky doubts stop me! While a step outside of my comfort zone initially, this book was a fabulous addition to the Hawks world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot and emotional MMM ménage, with a backdrop of suspense and MC connections.

I always enjoy a Lila Rose book. I love the connections between all the stories, but those connections are not vital to the narrative, so you don’t need to read the rest of the books to enjoy this one. It’s a MMM ménage and it’s a really hot book but has lots of believable build up and emotions are very central to the plot. It also has plenty of action so it’s not a pure erotica book by any means.

The story is about three men, Lan, Parker and Easton. Lan and Parker are Police Detectives and partners on the job. Parker is straight and Lan is bi-sexual. However, he’s mainly attracted to women and hasn’t been with a man since he broke up with Easton 10 years ago. Lan really hurt Easton when he rejected him in public, though Lan regretted that he hurt Easton at the time he wasn’t ready to come out. Lan and Parker are on the fringes of an MC. They are part of the family but not members because they can help more if their relationship to the MC is unknown by the police department. They have come to accept the personal justice the MC hands out over the established justice system, when it comes to certain offenders.

Lan and Easton reconnect when Easton moves into a new home and is alerted by one of his dogs to an incident occurring at his new neighbour’s house. He enters the house and chases away the people hurting his neighbour and then immediately tries to help the victim, only to find out it’s Lan who has been hurt. Easton is now a paramedic (he was a student when he was with Lan) and of course stays to help.

The story revolves around Lan’s attraction to both Parker and Easton, who he really cared about when they were together. It’s a complicated tale of how three people work through their own issues and pre-conceived ideas of what they need in a relationship. It’s placed on a bed of intrigue with the hunt for the people who attacked Lan and issues with Easton’s prejudiced father trying to come back into his life after many years of being ostracised. You really never get bored with a Lila Rose book, but I read this cover to cover in one sitting despite my gritty eyes!

Oh and did I mention it’s hot! It’s very sexy and explicit so if you are turned off my ménage or gay sex does nothing for you, you probably won’t enjoy the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars MMM Heaven!

COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!! Turn off the Internet, Silence your phone and get comfortable for an amazing MMM heaven read!!

This book is part of the Hawks MC series but i think you can read it as a standalone.

Lan and Parker are detectives and are unofficial members of the Hawks MC. They deal out their own form of justice when the law doesn't allow them to. They work well together which is good as Parker doesn't like many people.

At the end of the last book we meet Easton. Lan and Parker were helping out the Hawks when a paramedic was called. Easton comes across a person from his past he's tried to forget about. The one who broke his heart. Lan.

Since Easton, Lan has never been with another man. He has so much guilt about their ending that he wants to put things right even if it's just a friendship he can salvage with Easton he wants it but Easton refuses to talk.

A twist of fate and an ex work partner force Lan and Easton together again.

Easton isn't happy that Lan is back in his life. He's never got over him and the hurt he inflicted but his morals and job force him to deal with him. But it's not just him. Parker is always around and he drives Easton crazy.

Parker got a shock when he found out his partner Lan is Bisexual. He never knew him to be with anyone but women. He doesn't have a problem with it but after an under the influence kiss between him and Lan he starts to get confused. He has no idea where these feelings are coming from. After Lan and Easton start talking again his curiosity gets worse. He's never liked men before so why now. Why does the thought of Lan and Easton together get his blood pumping.

All three of their lives interconnect and force them to spend time together. Can Lan make his dreams come true and get Easton to forgive him? Can Easton learn to trust Lan again and give him the happily ever after he always wanted? Where can Parker fit into it all?

I bloody loved this book!! Every single thing about it i loved. I've read all the Hawks books so all the characters from those are in my heart anyway but these three... GAH i love em!!!

Lan is a little bit bossy and a whole lot of sexy. Protective and strong and so darn hot!!! After the way he treated Easton the first time round i was a little disappointed in him but boy does he turn it around and quickly thank goodness!! I love how open he is about his love for East. He's just so honest and i love this about him there's no bull just him.

East is just so adorable but in a hot way. Not that, that makes sense he's a bit of a contradiction. Cute and sweet and kind of innocent but then he's got another side where he's hot and open and willing and tough and he's so bloody lovable!! Instantly i fell for him and i can definitely see why Lan couldn't let him go.

and Finally Parker. So grumpy and broody and angry at the world but when he opens up what you see in his heart is pain and hope. Pain for his past but with Lan and East he has hope and it broke my heart for him. He's a pretty intense character and his fight against his feelings will have you willing him to make the right choice. I think i probably love him the most. His journey is the hardest but so bloody rewarding.

The three of them together i swear nearly set my kindle alight. HOT HOT HOT. The love scenes blew me away! Lady tingles aplenty especially when Parker made 3!

It's just an excellently written story. You kick off with a bang (pun intended) then it slows a little and then it picks back up again then slows, then back again. It's such a brilliant roller-coaster ride of a book it was impossible to put down. I never wanted it to end!

Amazing to see pretty much all the Hawks in here it's always great to catch up with them. I'm now looking forward to Gamers story!! Hopefully next!

This series (Ballarat and Caroline Springs) is turning out to be one of my all time favorites, there's a great mix in it, something for every taste and i have a taste for them all. Pure brilliance.

5 It's a new fave stars

Oh my! *Fan oneself!

I'll be honest and I've said it before that M/M isn't really my thing - absolutely nothing against it, it just didn't float my boat...until I read Lila's other book Hear Me Out and those guys where yum! Anyway, because it was Lila I was for reading it no matter what it's about because I love her work! And oh my! A big massive oh my!!....

Heavens above, speechless, flustered and oh my!

An excellent story, excellent connections between the three, loved that they took their time (some books tend to be meet, like and ****, story over - not Lila!!)
Thoroughly enjoyed it and most definitely recommend it.... especially if it's not your norm!!

Erm Not really sure where to start with this one but I'll try. OMG not one not two but three hot men and none of them available to the female population. That has to be a crime in itself ! There is a lot of inner turmoil suggested in this book with the only one truly sure of himself being Easton. The other two characters are fighting against who they are and it shows in their brusque manner. The Back ground to Parker's personality is heart breaking and this relationship almost becomes a journey of healing for him. The Bikers have their code and these cops are on the fringes of that and are not opposed to meeting out their sense of justice. As a law abiding citizen I would find such acts abhorrent but as a Fan of the Characters I was dusting off my hands and saying "Job Done" it was a hard read in places and Gamer's story brought a tear to my eye I often say in life unless you have walked a mile in someone else's shoes commenting on their lifestyle is a moot point. I enjoyed the story because it made me think about the issues contained within the story, how accurate it is to true like well that's for the individual story reader to decide. I enjoyed it, not for the faint of heart.
