I really loved the action in this novel. There was such a great buildup to the climax. The author literally had me hanging on to every word. I devoured this novel. I couldn't stop reading and when I did, I suffered the biggest book hangover. In addition, the romance was a super great plus. I loved seeing the characters get together, it was so sweet to see them confess their love. Lastly, the world building is phenomenal. The build up and twists and turns really made the novel a great read. This book is best in the series! One-click the entire series.
We finally learn what actually happened to Shannon and it ain't pretty. The book picks up where Hellfire and Homicide finished and Hailey is still not having the best time. Her relationship with Levi is strained and she is keeping secrets left, right and centre. Life is not getting any easier as the hunt for her nemesis continues and she thinks she's going mad and seeing things. The Eyes take a bit of a back seat in this last book of The Warlock series in the Magic Blood world.as Hailey is trying to finish what she started and rid London of Hellfire. Levi helps her when she lets him but this is her show. Cassandra plays her part in this book, telling Hailey as much as she can from her visions, pointing her in the right direction. I like Cassandra very much, even though she has not had a lot of page time in the series. I find her enigmatic, sympathetic and incredibly intriguing. I definitely want to see more of her as the books continue. I liked the ending, which tied up this story well but let scope for more from these characters, I hope we see more of all of them at some stage but the world that Katerina and Tansey have created, featured in this series and also in Tansey's Harlelquin's Harem series, has so much potential for new characters. new types of magical beings, and different locations. So far New Orleans and London have been the settings, with New York making a brief walk-on appearance, but the world is indeed their oyster. So much potential for plenty more books, which is great news for all of us. If you have't started this series yet, I recommend you start with Book 1, Demons and Deception, as the series makes more sense read in order. If you are new to either of these authors, their back catalogues are well worth reading.
Hailey and her crew are back. Hailey is keeping secrets are they are about to make themselves known in a sinister way. Reaper is out there…watching, waiting, and biding his time to take out Hailey. It won’t be long before he makes a move to light the world on fire. In this final book, Hailey will be put to the test. Whether she makes it or not will all depend on her inner strength and ability to let go. Warlocks and Wickedness by Katerina Martinez and Tansey Morgan is the final book in their Magic Blood: The Warlock series. Everything comes to a conclusion to this book as to whether the world will burn or whether Hailey can stop the only other person who controls Hell Fire. I love how the authors give us some background on Hailey in this book. We get some of the histories of what has happened to her and what brought her to London in the first place. The authors have teased us with this through the previous books but we finally get a nice chunk of information regarding it. There are some surprises in this book, but not as many as previous books. While this series has focused on Hailey and the battles with the Hell Holes to close them up, the previous books have still branched off and given the spotlight to the other characters in this series. This book, in my opinion, focuses more on Hailey than the previous ones. Everything comes together in this book and wraps up pretty neatly. While I have to admit that the ending is a bit anti-climactic and not as exciting as I had hoped, it’s a good ending. Other than that there really isn’t anything that I don’t like about this book. I am rating this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. I wish that there had been more excitement leading up to the final moments, this is a good book with some surprising elements to it. If you’ve read through the series to this point then I encourage you to pick this book up and dive in. You won’t want to miss this conclusion to these two authors’ series.
I feel slightly bereft that it’s over already. But Holy Hellfire, what a story that was! Filled with action, magic, mayhem, and lots of devious little plot twists. As much as I didn’t want the book to end, I couldn’t put it down in my rush to see how Hailey and the Eyes would solve their predicament. This also left us in a place with lots of room for future stories about the paranormals of this alternate reality. And I, for one, can’t wait to read them. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the authors
While I am sad this series is done, I am looking forward to reading more about the characters in this universe if the authors ever do write more. Hailey's story was definitely an interesting perspective of a world I first learned about in another series no matter how quickly it came and went. I love Tansey Morgan's style of writing even if occasionally I feel like the stories end too quickly (because I am so invested in her awesome characters), and this last book was no exception.
A pretty good ending to a great series. Though my only issue was the ending battle seemed a bit rushed and I would have liked to have seen a bit of what the rest of the group was doing while Hailey was handling her part. Still overall I feel it was a good end. I enjoyed the little conclusion where we got to see a bit of what everyone was doing after the big battle as well. Good series and worth the read!
What an explosive ending to an amazing urban fantasy series!!!! The writing is smooth and really keeps the reader hooked as all of details are finally unveiled. I never would have guessed even half of what goes down which is just awesome. If you read the first four books then of course you have to read this one and if you have not started yet then why not? I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
