I am immediately pulled back into the story in the first paragraph. Hang on for the ride because it is non-stop action, angst and secrets from the first page to the last. I can’t wait to see where we end up.
4.0 out of 5 starsHailey and Hellfire - who will win?
Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2018
Diving straight into the action, following on from the events in Scions and Sorcery, this fourth book reeled me right back in. Hailey is being targeted by her old enemy who is leaving her in no doubt of his intentions. She and the Eyes can barely step foot outside their doors without finding a statement of intent from him, left in the most grisly of ways. Their communication problems are still making life difficult for them as well and they have the small problem of stopping all Hell from breaking loose, along with a mage with a serious desire to unleash Hellfire on an unsuspecting London. Hailey is certainly in the wars in this book, giving everything to try to stop all these horrific things from happening. The Eyes now have a new recruit in Cassandra, a Seer, who is quiet and enigmatic. I really like her as a character and how she has fitted in with the others seamlessly, and she is a great help to them, especially to Hailey. She complements their strengths and helps to drive the story and the action along. We meet a new ally in this book, one who I was not sure we would ever get to actually see, rather than "hear", and they are very intriguing. The creativity of these authors is show-cased in this series to the benefit of both the books and the readers. I love this series and suggest you start reading them now.
Welcome back to London. Reaper is on the loose, Cerberus is looking to acquire Hellfire, and of course, the Hellhole is still a problem plus that annoying Technomancer. Hailey and the crew have managed to rescue Mason, but their problems are still climbing. Reaper has a personal agenda and Hailey is the object of that agenda. Danger lurks around every corner, but things are about to suffer a huge shake-up. Hellfire and Homicide by Katerina Martinez and Tansey Morgan is book four in their Magic Blood: The Warlock series. The crew has managed to get out of one situation but the bigger problem still faces them…Cerberus and his quest to acquire Hellfire. Cassandra, the Seer helps to elevate this story with her unique abilities. Her addition to the crew is a bonus and one that they desperately needed. The authors create more than a few surprises with this story. There are ups and downs and of course, intense moments in this story. There honestly isn’t anything that I don’t like about this book. The overall writing between the two authors is flawless. I like that I can’t tell who is writing what because of how smoothly the story flows. I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. The characters are engaging, the storyline flows well and I enjoyed the surprises that the authors throw at the readers. If you enjoyed the first three books in this series then be sure to grab this book up! It will totally be worth it.
Just when I think these two cannot surprise me any more I turn the page and bam there it is. Haleigh and her team are still scrambling to keep up with the bad guys while trying to get ahead of them. Things get even more confusing when the bad guys start turning up dead. Then we come to the huge twist/surprise at the end that leads to the lovely cliff hanger making you want the next book now not later though I can wait if necessary. If you like the genre then you really have to try this book/series. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

First off, this is an amazing fourth installment to a great series. I loved the action and adventure. There is never a moment that the author never fails to keep you on your toes. Once you think you have figured out the twists, another one is thrown. I just got sucked in from the very first word. Secondly, the romance was AMAZING! The hero and heroine have so much chemistry together. Yet, it is done very well. The romance is secondary and the action triumphs. I really liked how both of them are equal in the relationship. Thirdly, the world building is amazing. I liked how we get introduced to new kinds of magic and creatures. It was a gigantic puzzle that was waiting to be unravelled. All in all, great novel!
5.0 out of 5 starsThis book just leveled the series up

This book just leveled the series up. I’m not even sure I have the right words to explain what I just experienced reading this story. From the beautifully sweet opening sequence through the action and mayhem that follow, this book kept me glued to my seat anxiously flipping pages to find out what happens next. And the cliff-hanger ending this book closes with leaves me with an odd kind of feeling. I’m desperate to know where the next book will take us, but I’m also satisfied with the resolution of this story. I’m both impatient and content, yet these aren’t two emotions that should not be able to coexist peacefully. All I know for certain is that I need to read the next book. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the authors.
Action, Adventure, And Wow! Hailey and the team really make a go at trying to stop Cerberus in this installment. Unfortunately, Reaper is there with his wicked ways. Reaper’s team is a force to be reckon with and are always standing in the way of progress. That is until Reaper makes some very surprising decisions. Can Haile and the team really stop Reaper and Cerberus keep reading. You will not be disappointed. Well done!
