Of course Daisaku Ikeda is amazing and this is his memoir basically. Amazing story, very insightful. Like Nichiren's observations of 13th Century Japan, this will someday be a historian's treasure, as well as an inspiration for many.

Great read for Soka Gakkai members. So inspiring how President Ikeda travelled around North and South America in order to propagate the practice and encourage members in those places.
I recommend this NHR Vol.1 for all who are interested in learning about SGI and Nichiren Buddhism. I am on a mission to read all volumes available this year. Thank you Sensei.

I, myself a practicing Nichiren Daishonin SGI Buddhist found this book to be filled with fasinating experiences: struggles and triumphs in rebuilding the moral fiber of a sorely defeated country and culture. How the dynamics of a faith belief and amazing undaunted leadership, causing ordinary people to bring their best self to every situation... being extraordinary - Nam myoho renge kyo
I love this book. There is so much you can get from it. Highly recommend it. I'm always hunting for this kind of books (Dr. Ikea's second hand books) on Amazon. They are way to expensive when new... In the US, you can get second hand ones pretty cheap on Amazon... but in Japan, not so much. Grab one whenever you have the chance!
