Jump on for a wild ride with Belfrage who is a master of storytelling and description, whether of people, places or things. I loved her historical novels, but this is a change of pace for her. A Flame Through Eternity is an erotic thriller/paranormal with characters you’ll either love or hate. Get to know Helle, Jason, the villain Sam, and Jason’s mother, who have been reincarnated multiple times over thousands of years. Jason searched for Helle in all those lives, and he has finally found this love of his life in the 21st century. His mother has a pivotal role, but to say more would spoil the story. Sam, Helle’s husband in an arranged marriage in that past life, is pretty twisted and obsessed with Helle in the present. He is determined to get her back. When he is ‘on screen’ (or in Helle’s mind) it can be pretty frightening. Belfrage takes you on an emotional rollercoaster. The brief snippets of Helle and Jason’s ancient past provide a look at other cultures and I, for one, would love to see a whole novel in that world.

If you’re like me and haven’t read books 1 & 2, book 3 in Belfrage’s Wanderers series can easily be read on its own. The author does a great job of providing enough background to allow a reader to jump into the novel without being confused. This is a page turner with a gripping, and at times, heartwrenching, plot.

I was given an ARC (advanced review copy) for an honest review.

4.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful finale to The Wanderer Series.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Wander series of novels by Anna Belfrage. The stories are beautifully written, full of suspense and suffused with gorgeous imagery.

In A Flame Through Eternity, Jason and Helle’s fight against the brilliantly imagined villain, Sam Woolf, comes to a stunning and slightly unexpected conclusion. I found book three to be a satisfying ending to this trilogy of erotic paranormal thrillers.

A feature that I enjoyed throughout the series was the flashbacks to the past, painting an exotic picture of a land along the banks of the Bosporus as it was three thousand years ago. Returning the characters to where their story began (now modern Turkey) was a nice touch. The writing is evocative, and as with all of her books, Ms. Belfrage demonstrates her mastery of scene-setting.

There is quite a lot of sex in this book, so if you’re one of those people who’d rather read books where the adults don’t get much more intimate than holding hands and staring into each other’s eyes, this might not be for you. If you’re a person who enjoys reading romance where no facet of the development of the relationship between the hero and heroine is hidden or glossed over, read away.

As a whole, the Wander Series is an epic love story, portraying one of the most unusual of love triangles. A gripping tale of love, loss, and a long and difficult battle for the ever-elusive happy ending.

I give A Flame Through Eternity 4.5 stars.

Followers of this blog will be well aware of my love for Anna Belfrage's books and her latest, which is the last book in her Wanderer series is another fabulous addition to her repertoire.

The Wanderer series - consisting of A Torch in His Heart, Smoke in Her Eyes, and A Flame Through Eternity - are paranormal romance thrillers that tell the story of Jason, his love Helle, and the Sam whose story began 3000 years ago. Through countless reincarnations, the trio stays intertwined with Jason trying to get back to his love Helle, and Sam scheming to get revenge on them both.

A Flame Through Eternity kicks off two months after the ending of the last book. Jason and Helle are together and Sam is finally gone...or is he? Did he really drown or will their enemy return with a vengeance?

The series is best read in order but Anna provides enough backstory in this one so readers won't be lost. But trust me, you'll want to read all the books! They are just so good and juicy!

Among the reasons why I love Anna's books are the way she fleshes out her characters - they aren't all good or all bad. Her dialogue and humor are stellar and her sexy scenes are....well, freakin' sexy! If you don't mind a little steam in your reading you should definitely check this series out!

I think this was a fantastic and satisfying conclusion to the series and I will truly miss Jason and Helle. This is a series where each installment was equally strong and there was never a dull moment! Highly recommended!

What better way to spend a cold winter’s night than under a duvet with Anna Belfrage’s latest hot romance…and A Flame through Eternity has enough charge to power the national grid and simultaneously melt your kindle. That being said, there is an extraordinary story line too, one to satisfy the most demanding of fiction readers, crafted in Ms Belfrage’s beautiful prose and exhilarating scene-setting. This is the perfect blend of steamy romance and story-telling…no scene is gratuitous and every scene is captivating. From the mystical deep green English countryside to the whispering pines and soaring mountains of a seductive ancient land, Helle and Jason pursue their fate with the conviction and strength of the eternal lovers they embody.
A Flame through Eternity is the third in Ms. Belfrage’s sizzling “Wanderer” series, and although it continues the dangerous love triangle of earlier books, this could be read as a stand-alone. Helle and Jason come into their own, their love passionate and tender, their destiny in peril from the dangerous Sam Woolf, whose own fixation on Helle creates a disturbing and erotic sub plot. In this novel, the beautiful and manipulative Katherine, Jason’s evocatively untrustworthy mother becomes a pivotal character, and one you equally admire and are repelled by.
Between the captivating locations, charismatic lovers and hideous enemies, A Flame through Eternity is a study in dark and light, fire and ice, and a novel that deeply satisfies on multiple levels. Highly recommend, and hoping there is follow up smoldering in Ms. Belfrage’s dazzling imagination.

“It started 3 000 years ago. It ends now. Who survives the final confrontation?”

The final instalment of the Wanderer series concludes like a raging bonfire with human drama at its epicentre. Family secrets are finally unravelled and revealed. Anna Belfrage delivers a taut, steamy, tension-filled drama purging 3,000 year old secrets. She’s taken the best and worse of the human psyche and pitted it against each other.

Over the previous two books, the ultimate baddie, Wolfe, has a single-minded determination to destroy Jason and enslave Helle to his will. In this book, he is stronger than ever and even more of a threat to Jason and Helle’s new married life. Their best weapon against him comes in the form of Jason’s reincarnated mother, Nefirie, but is she an asset or a two-sided blade?

This is the final confrontation with Wolfe but Jason and Helle have more to lose than ever before and it becomes obvious that even if they defeat him, Wolfe will only return to continue to stalk them with every subsequent life. How do you defeat the ultimate evil immortal soul? This is the ultimate painted corner, and I couldn’t imagine how Jason and Helle were going to survive, but Belfrage pulls it off, delivering a satisfying conclusion to this sensual, paranormal series.
