Although the hero of this story was grumpy, overly rigid, and absolutely hated humans in the previous books when his character was introduced, his own story turned out surprisingly sweet. And his humanity, which initially seemed to have been buried deep, then cemented over, then buried again, was actually much closer to the surface than he let on. I'm fact, I would say that he had actually retained more of his humanity intact than the other cyborgs we have met in this series. For better or worse, the undertones of age play dynamic between the two main characters never actually materializes in any significant way. I'm my own opinion, I thought the book could have used a little more of that authority figure/disciplinarian vibe, but the story isn't greatly lessened by it's lack. I liked the main characters, especially Sam, but the daughter character was a little weak. I think maybe the author could have benefited by some time spent with younger children so that her age/development wasn't quite so all over he place. Good book over all. I am enjoying the series and plan to continue purchasing and reading future books.
4.0 out of 5 starsA very enjoyable Wild, Wild West sci-fi romance.

This novel was well written and edited, with few if any typos that I caught. The characterization was great, with me feeling especially sympathetic to the heroine and all she had suffered with her ex-husband. The hero was crusty on the outside and a marshmallow on the inside, which is a character type I usually love. The world building in this novel, re-creating the atmosphere of the old American West during the colonization of Mars, is super enjoyable for me, because I was definitely a Firefly fan. The plot and pacing of this novel was exciting and meant I finished it in one sitting. This novel was medium angst and very high stakes, which is one of my preferred narrative structures for romance novels. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy sci-fi romances with cyborg heroes or who were fans of Firefly.

Judgement Day is here. I love this second chance romance! I did wonder if Sam would judge Addie too harshly for her previous actions, but love can overcome many obstacles. I get such a big kick out of the cyborg horses and their interactions with the women. These horses are every bit as protective as the big cyborgs who ride them! There are a few intriguing surprises here - very exciting! Best of all, is the delicious love that Sam and Addie have for each other!
4.0 out of 5 starsThe cold, unyielding, anti-human Judge finds his match in the long lost love that he believed had betrayed him.

Another great addition to this sci-fi western series. I have loved all of these books so far. In each one we meet strong new cyborg heros, and get to know the females that show them how to be human again. The world building is strong, the villains are dastardly, and the cyborgs are sexy. I did feel that the h in this one was a weaker more submissive personality that was not a good match for The Judge. Her six year old daughter was actually a much stronger character than she was. I would really like to stick with this series to see what is developing with the robotic horses. I suspect a high level of AI sentience is evolving, however the next book looks to be multi partner. My luck, just when I find a great m/f book series that I absolutely love, the author sneaks in a RH/mmf.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I read the first book. I’ve now read all three and am waiting for the fourth in April 2020. Though I tend to skip the sex scenes, unlike some other erotic romances, these books have actual stories and characters that develop. It is interesting reading, touching my imagination and my emotions. I want these characters to succeed and get their happy ending. Good writing, I don’t remember seeing any typos or gross writing mistakes that jarred me from the story. A well put together read, not super long, but sometimes you don’t want to spend a week reading the same book. Thanks. I will keep reading this series.

Oh Judge, sigh. I loved the crusty Sam from the beginning. I've been waiting to see who or what hurt him so badly he hated all humans, or tried to anyway. Addie suffered greatly because of her love for Sam. She wasn't old enough to be strong and confident in the past but that's changed after all she's done and suffered. I love this series and watching to see what's up with GenCon and the other Cyborgs has made this a series I stalk new releases for. One of my favorites, always leave me feeling happy and wanting my own sexy Cyborg hottie. Sign me up for the first settlement ship, lol

I was so excited to read this ever since he read about this salty guy. I was not disappointed.
I do like that they had a past and it didn't seem that they just fell into each others beds. I do so hope she keeps with this series. If so I wonder who her next pairing would be.
This is the story of Addie and S-756 (Sam) they had known each other in the past and due to a misunderstanding he hates her. Then 12 years later they are both on Mars and by chance meet again and he realizes not everything back then was what it seemed.
**If you like Honey Phillips other books you will love this one as well.
