If you liked the rest of the series then you will love this book.

Im going to be honest the start is slow and a little filler, but its still fun. The middle gets a bit better, as we get a little progress, but then we hit the last 20% holy shizze balls that is great, like really great, like it is probably so of the most interesting stuff in the series. Ryan Rimmel if you are reading this, well done with that ending you really took you writing to a whole new level with it.

I can't help it, I just love this rather silly, yet not, series. There has been a wonderful humble morality to these as well as the usual gamer love of mayhem. And seriously I now have 'Fecking Pumas' as part of my vocabulary. Because Pumas. They are everywhere.
This book was very uneven and struggled a bit. Too many plays on old jokes and earth saying/ retro gamer stuff etc. Less of a composed and well laid out plot path than the previous books. However still loved it, will wait impatiently for the next one and further developments. Hopefully a bit more world building and a bit less chaotic. Also need some HEA in there -at least a bit.

Characters are hilarious. The allusions to modern pop culture are witty, and the setting is creative. But the plot of this book...
It felt like it rushed to get somewhere in the series plot that we weren’t ready for yet.
In a book, you have a series of promises that you make to your readers. This book, in the beginning, promised to be a heist. We get a mini-heist with Badgelor and Jim on Badger’s Night, and the promise of more heist-like activity with a dungeon dive.
But the ending didn’t deliver on the promises made. I can accept that the plot goes sideways, and we no longer have a heist story. But that really shouldn’t happen at 85% of the way through.
Love the series. Fully intend to keep reading. But you have to have a least favorite book in a series, and this is it for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jim never disappoints

While I always prefer to listen to the audio books, due to Johnathan McClain's perfection as the story's narrator, I wasn't going to wait to hear the next leg of my favorite LitRPG series. When it comes to constantly putting an antagonist is the worst situations possible, and making it pure comedic joy, rather than stress inducing plot drama, Ryan Rimmel is an artist. He also flawlessly toes these lines of making Jim an idiot in a couple of ways, seem to be a complete moron in many ways, but also an seem like an absolute genius in other ways, when in reality, he actually is not, but somehow still be competent and juuust lucky enough to pull the odd extraordinary feat out of his ass. The back end of this one is certainly more tense than usual, with some events that threw me more than I've experienced so far in the story. That said, there were advancements to the mechanics that broke them out of the rigid feel they had previous, which was a huge positive moving forward. All in all, another big win for Ryan, keep it up!

Just as I thought this was going to be one of those never ending series that just strings you along off the merits of the previous books in the series, this author comes out nowhere with a left hook and shattered my preconceived notions.

Really cool book. Lots of grind which we like. Plus some crafting mostly in the spell verse. Jim is coping with his usual aplomb. The good part is Jim is finally loosening up about love and romance. He is accepting he is here now. The bad is the book leaves a lot of questions at the end. The big focus of the book is the dungeon dive which is epic . Jim has hit some character limits so will be interesting to see how he handles them and continue to grow. Looking forward to the next book

3.0 out of 5 stars And he stumbles RIGHT OUT OF THE GATE. . .

That's how this book starts, it flops on its face right out of the door, & then it was really really
slow at picking itself back up. (Like it got brain damage from the fall)
It was so slow.. so horribly horribly slow. *Cries in frozen tears* I don't like the badger to be honest as a character. I don't care for his stupid holiday.
The MC has turned into a beta (Is what I'm thinking reading the beginning of this book 4) for a lead character, he sure lets the badger boss him around a bit too much.

No wonder charles betrayed the badger? he was probably trying to get away from the little egotistical rot eating badger.. That would be my hunch. It was probably an honest to god good reason betrayal on charles point. That's what I'm thinking as a reader at this time anyways.

Needless to say.. I was about ready to leave a "1 star rating" b/c I was working up to popping a blood vessel in my forehead when reading the beginning of this book. Because the MC has done pissed me off by not going the "Sueletta" route.. & honestly even after Basharas manipulation, she just needed an alpha male's loving and she'll be fine & straighten out there, but. well the MC didn't go that route either.. (Whats wrong with him!?) So he got into a "situation" with the "Healer", I thought, "Here we go again" .. I honestly thought he was going to flub this as well. Boy was I angry. Fortunately he stepped up to the plate, grew a pair, finally, & knocked it out of the park. He finally "Manned up" as the old saying goes when facing challenges.

That saved this book from a 1 star rating to be honest.

The thing about this book, & why its just a 3 star rating at this point. (Half way through reading it there about) is because its this mix of "stupid & smart".. too many jokes.. too much inane banter. Its good to a point, but it felt like the author just leaned WAAAY to heavily on the "Punchline crutch"..

What got me into this book, was the MC acting like a man.. he golf clubbed an elder demon into a tree. That was pretty fricking cool. This was right after he plummeted to the ground in an epic fashion. We have come a long way from this origin. Now the MC is this half baked, confusing character. Part of it makes him seem like a hero.. part of his actions make him seem human, then the other 90% of his actions makes him seem like a flaming retard.

I read for the moments where the MC does something cool.. but to be honest, I have a lot of moments where I just want to stop reading. Because I'm like "Really? you've had the glorious fortune of isekai'ing to another world? & you can't adapt better than this? why let the rules of your old world slow you down?"

Here's a quote from the book:
● You have learned about the skill, Potion Miscibility. You are unskilled. There is a special skill to be this stupid.

●        Potion Miscibility check: successful.  You have suffered a 10% temporary Hit Point reduction for the next 4 hours from imbibing 3 potions at once.  You have gained +25% on all potion effects for the next 10 minutes.

“Are you crazy?” gasped Jarra, as I shook off the wave of nausea.  “You can’t drink three buff potions at once!  You have to spread them out.”"

*smacks forehead*

Anyways, TL:DR If you liked the other books, go ahead read this, what more harm can it actually do?

*update* I actually finished reading book 4. I'm at a loss. My expectations based off, the previous 3 books, were just totally blown out of the water. A lot of stuff happened, that I did not expect. For one the pacing. Like, the author really kicked things into high gear. I expected this dungeon dive in book four to lead to some level ups.. & go from there, given the context of what was happening... a bit of character growth, which we got. But, wow, this "ship" blasted right into orbit & beyond.

I don't understand why the pacing went like this? to me, it makes no sense.. were at book 4, I expected more books. Do to the pacing-that book 4 starts out with; I wish I had book 5 already just to see how the author is going to handle things?! (B/c as an adult, who has read a ton of these stories.. I'm drawing a blank personally. To me it seems like figuratively painting yourself into a corner) I also don't know why you'd go through the trouble of leveling & giving character growth, to well, do what the author chose to do story wise? like why? So many many questions.. Mainly short questions of "Why?"..

As a reader I kind of feel like my emotions are being played with, a lot. I don't like it. That being said, shoving frustrations aside.. if you want a real twist of things. This book is worth reading. But I'm leaving my rating at 3 stars. Mainly I'm just really frustrated with the way things worked out pacing wise. It makes no sense to me, compared to a ton of other "Isekai" books I have read. When you read a book. It normally has "Ebs & flows" just like a song. This series is "unique" in that regard.

I have not finished this book, in fact, I'm only about 1/3 of the way through it, but last night while I was lying in bed reading before going to sleep I got to the chapter on delivering the Badgelor gifts and I laughed as hard as I ever have at any book. The last time I enjoyed a chapter in any book as much was before Sir PTerry Pratchett died and it was one of his books. It was so damn funny, you have got to read it, just for this one chapter. The rest of the book (and indeed the series) is fun too, so worth getting all four books.
Thanks so much to the Author Mr Ryan Rimmel for cheering me up while recovering from cancer. You have no idea how much this helped me.
